Joe Simpson at Nick Lachey’s party?

February 5, 2010 by kathleen

OK! magazine is reporting that Jessica and Ashlee Simpson’s father/manager, Joe Simpson, crashed Nick Lachey’s pre-Super Bowl bash in Miami, Fla. earlier this week.

Ashlee Simpson-Wentz Makes Her Broadway Debut In Chicago
An eyewitness claims to have overheard Joe talking at Hotel 944 in Eden Roc Renaissance Miami Beach, exclaiming, “Nick doesn’t know I’m here!”
Apparently, OK! even informed Nick that Joe had been there, to which Nick responded:
“I haven’t talked to Joe in years. So be it.”
Sounds like an awkward situation!
BTW, doesn’t Joe look a little like a cross between Conan O’Brien and Nick Nolte in that photo?

Jessica Simpson dating Friday Night Lights’ star Taylor Kitsch?

February 4, 2010 by kathleen

Perez is reporting that our girl Jessica Simpson is dating Friday Night Lights‘ hottie Taylor Kitsch.

Image: INF

Apparently she was introduced to Kitsch by her bff CaCee Cobb’s’ BF, Donald Faison, who is best known for playing Turk on Scrubs. A source told ShowbizSpy.com that the two met in December at a casual soiree:

Jessica had a bunch of people over for pizza and beer, and Donald bought his pal Taylor. They ended up talking all night and it’s gone from there. He’s very sweet and constantly tells Jessica she’s gorgeous.”

Gotta say, I’m loving the direction Jess is going in with men. From Gerard Butler to Billy Corgan and now to Taylor Kitsch, it is obvious that Jess is choosing more laid back, low maintenance guys. I approve!

Also, if they got married, her name would be Jessica Kitsch. Totally fits!

Jessica and Ashlee Simpson’s Nana in hospital

February 2, 2010 by kathleen

Jessica Simpson recently Tweeted that her’s and Ash’s nan is in the hospital having a tumor removed. Though the event is obviously not a joyful one, Jess found ways to make it entertaining for herself and those around her.

From Jessica Simpson's Twitter

Since her first Tweet about her grandmother having surgery, Jess posted this series of Tweets about events happening in the hospital:

TOOT (Wonder what that is referring to? ;) )

don’t like having to leave and go back to a hotel room, but I’ll b back there tomorrow lovin’ on her. Nana is a fighter! Pls keep praying:)

“You can fake an orgasim but you can’t fake laughter” Bob Dylan

I meant “orgasm” not orgasim…one of the cute doctors here at the hospital informed me of my misspelled tweet. Hmm…was he hitting on me?

Hospital breakfast…oh joy!!

Bored at the hospital. I think I’m gonna go look for some hot doctors..Mc Dreamy?Mc Steamy?Clooney? Let the search begin….

Sounds like Jess is having as much fun as one can possibly have in those circumstances! I’m sure her family appreciates it. During difficult times, laughter is often the best medicine. Stay strong Jess and Simpson family–your nan is in our thoughts and on the blog!

Jessica Simpson has public gas

February 2, 2010 by kathleen

According to Us Magazine, Jessica Simpson let something slip at a recent business meeting. However, it wasn’t a slip of the tongue. No, it was something much more…flatulent.

A source told the magazine:

“While one of the executives was speaking in a room full of five people, Jessica let out a very loud fart.”

Apparently her mother, Tina Simpson, who was also present, scolded her daughter on her uncouth behavior:

“Her mother [Tina Simpson] was there, and it prompted her to turn around and yell, ‘Jessica!’ The tension was extreme. No one knew what to say.”

Ha! Well, this will dispel any ideas that pretty women don’t let one rip. Embarrassing, but natural!

Do you have an embarrassing story of a similar nature? I always get really loud tummy grumblings while in class, especially if I haven’t eaten yet. In a quiet classroom of over 100 students, it can be easily heard! EEK!

Ashlee Simpson at Talk Back Tuesday

January 31, 2010 by kathleen

We reported awhile ago that Ashlee Simpson-Wentz would be participating in Broadway’s Talk Back Tuesdays on January 19. Turns out she dished out quite a few nuggets of information!

INF

When asked about life after the stage, she responded that she would be focusing on her maternal duties:

“I plan to take a little break after this. I’m going to take a break in the meantime and figure out what I’m going to do.”

However, she did spill about her musical goals for the future:

“But I will be making another record. In that time, you’ve got to make some music.”

She also discussed her role, and how it’s been a lifelong dream of hers:

“As a child I grew up dancing. I danced on tour with my sister, so growing up I was a dancer and my dream was to be on Broadway. And my first play I actually saw was Les Miserables. That was amazing as well and made me feel right about that I want to be on Broadway. It’s amazing to be on it and in New York City. It’s a dream.”

Les Mis is my favorite musical! Great to hear that Ash had so much fun on the stage. Perhaps we will be seeing more of her on it in the future!

Do you have a favorite musical? Let me know!

Well then hurry up and head over to Celebrity Baby Blog and post a question before they interview the lovely Mrs. Ashlee Simpson-Wentz tomorrow!

INF

Just out of curiosity, what would you ask Ash if you got the chance? I’d like to find out how difficult it is to prepare for a Broadway show–lines, lyrics and dancing, oh my!

Let me know in the comments below and head over to Celebrity Baby Blog to get your question in. They will also be interviewing Tori Spelling, so if you’re really interested in the lives of Hollywood mamas, this is the chance for you to get your say in!

(The most popular question in the comments section thus far seems to be, “How did you choose Bronx Mowgli as your son’s name?”)

I’ll update when the interview is posted. Can’t wait to read it!

Jessica Simpson discusses The Price of Beauty

January 25, 2010 by kathleen

Just found this great interview Jessica Simpson did with TeenTelevision.com, in which she discusses her new reality show, “The Price of Beauty,” set to premiere on Vh1 on March 14.

From Jessica Simpson's Twitter

From Jessica Simpson's Twitter

This was a very informative interview. For example, I had no idea that the show would feature Jess’s work with her favorite charity, Operation Smile. The show even provided reconstructive surgery to a young girl in India with a cleft lip and palette.

Here in the interview in its entirety:

What have you learned about beauty from going around the world and interviewing women?

Jessica:  I think going all around the world and seeing all of these incredibly courageous women, it really inspired all of us to find the best within ourselves.

And I feel like I walk around with so much more pride in who I am as a woman, as a person.  And I got to do it with my best friends, and I think we all just discovered so much about what life really, really is and what beauty actually means.

Has the girl in India changed your view on reconstructive surgery? Isn’t there a difference between women who don’t have a deformity and elect to do it and a girl who really needs it?

Jessica:  I am not against reconstructive surgery if it is for a woman to have more confidence.  If that’s what it’s for, if that’s truly the reason, I think that I would support it.

Giving this little East Indian girl a smile arms her with courage to face the world and fulfill her potential wouldn’t you say?

Jessica: Yeah, absolutely.  And, you know, that was just one part of the show.  I mean, we learn a lot about surgery in Brazil. It’s definitely the largest place for plastic surgery.  I think one incredible thing that we all fell in love with was all the different religions and just learning more about the Muslims and Hindus and the Buddhists and how they define beauty.

So I think you’ll see a lot of that throughout the show as well.  There’s lots of laughter.  There’s a lot of tears.  But, I think you’ll definitely see friendship and beautiful women.

Do you follow up with Mena who had the cleft palate? How is she doing, and is that a big part of the show, following up on women you have covered?

Jessica: Absolutely.  Mena is here in the United States right now going through more surgery. She had a cleft lip and a cleft palate.  So there were more surgeries that needed to be done, and she’s also getting some dental work done, and she’ll be here for probably another six weeks.

To read more of the interview, and to learn which country was her favorite to visit (the picture above is a hint!)…

Jessica Simpson to design for Jones New York

January 21, 2010 by kathleen

Jessica Simpson is embarking on yet another retail endeavor. She will be designing a line with classic women clothing company Jones New York, set to debut in July in 1000 stores nationwide. The line will include jeans, knit tops, jackets and skirts.

Jess told Women’s Wear Daily (via FabSugar):

“Because I live in denim, the fit was the most important. A girl’s booty needs to look good. I was inspired to create a great denim line that complements the entire Jessica Simpson lifestyle brand — a jean that becomes a girl’s best friend, that everyday go-to pair.”

FabSugar also said, “The collection wholesales around $9 for a simple tank to $27 for a boyfriend blazer. Other items include jeggings made in all kinds of cool washes, asymmetrical ruffled tanks, chunky knits, faux fur vests, and chiffon miniskirts.”

Wow. What doesn’t Jess have her well-manicured hands in? She’s in music, film, TV and just about every major retail store in America. I think it is safe to say Jess is a multiple-threat!

To view photos of items from collection, check out FabSugar’s gallery here.

Are Jessica Simpson and Billy Corgan “just friends?”

January 19, 2010 by kathleen

Although it has been reported that Jessica Simpson and Smashing Pumpkins‘ frontman Billy Corgan have actually been dating for quite some time, new sources are saying that they are now just friends and collaborators.

Kristin Burns 2010

Kristin Burns 2010

A source told Fox411.com (via NY Daily News):

Jessica loved spending so much time in and out of the studio with Billy. She’s in awe of his musical prowess, and it adds to her feelings for him, but they are not dating.”

The source also said that the attention their short-lived flirtation did receive put him off to continuing it with Jess:

“Dating Jessica publicly can be intense. Billy maintains a quiet, private music-focused life and the taste of publicity he got while being with Jessica was an eye opener. Billy likes Jessica, but he will work to keep their relationship as it is and focus on the music. They are not getting serious, but Jessica has had so much fun with him.”

Despite him not wanting a romantic relationship with her, the source did say that Billy has changed her for the better:

[Jessica] really got fed up with doing things for other people. Jessica barely wears makeup these days. Her workout schedule isn’t strict. She eats whatever she wants. She once was a slave to what people thought and said about her, and her time with Billy has brought out an even more mature and toned down Jessica.”

What do you think? I think it could be either way. I could see where they might be just friends, but recent photos and information have led me to believe it is more than that. However, it is positive to hear that Jess is making changes for the better. If anyone deserves to say F-U to the media and the critical mass public, it is definitely her!

Jessica Simpson and Billy Corgan allegedly dating for four months

January 13, 2010 by kathleen

A source is telling People Magazine that Jessica Simpson and Smashing Pumpkins front man Billy Corgan have actually been dating for four months.

Kristin Burns 2010

Kristin Burns 2010

Many media outlets began reporting the relationship in early December, claiming that they had been dating since at least November. However, if the news from People is accurate, then they probably began dating in September, when Jess was promoting Billy’s religious Web site via Twitter.

People also says that “they met in a neighborhood where one was living and the other was staying with a friend.” The source told them:

“He got her number and starting calling her. He thought she was cute … adorable … and she got a little crush.”

However, People is also quoting a source that isn’t sure whether the two are romantic anymore:

“They are still close and still really good friends. They are still involved in each other’s lives. They are still hanging out. I don’t know if it’s romantic anymore.”

Very confusing! But maybe that is how they want it to be. Always wondering, never for sure…
