Ashlee Simpson: No Longer In the Shadow

This has always been one of my favorite Ashlee Simpson videos and songs. I think anyone that has grown up without the love of a parent they needed understands these lyrics. Somehow, I think this makes us understand Ashlee a little better. I also like the positive message here, because she has come to a place of forgiveness and has moved on to a successful life. She’s even sold more records than her sister now, making her a more successful recording artist. This has to feel good, especially given the fact that she was overlooked for her beautiful sister growing up.
