Teenage and tween-age girls all around the world were heard screaming cries of anguish last week when it was falsely reported that Fall Out Boy was breaking up.

When asked if the band was working on any new material, bassist Pete Wentz stated that they were not, and had no immediate plans to, either.  Wentz also went on to add that the band was taking some time to “breathe.”  But hang on to your eyeliner, boys and girls, Fall Out Boy is not going anywhere.

Wentz unknowingly fired up the old rumor mill, however, he recently spoke with MTV to clear to matter up.

He said: “I think I fueled that rumor accidentally. I think that when someone asked me if we were working on any new Fall Out Boy songs, I said, ‘No, not right now.’ “We’re working on getting the Blink-182 tour. Then we’ll see where we’re standing. “I don’t know that the world has to be all Fall Out Boy, all the time. When I see stuff like that with other bands, it sort of drives me crazy.”

There, does that clear that up for you?  Pete and his boys aren’t breaking up.  They’re just seeing other people for now.

Check out this crazy gossip about Ashlee Simpson. Someone said she went all crazy on Pete Wentz‘ ex Michelle Trachtenberg while out Monday night.

The source claims that Ashlee got drunk, said some vile things about Michelle (including that she slept with Pete while he and Michelle were dating) and then proceeded to give Pete a lap dance.

Hmmm. I said BOGUS the first time I heard this, but then caught a follow up from Ashlee’s rep, which said: “Ashlee has since apologized to Michelle, and they remain on good terms.”

Yiiikes. Could this be true? What’s your thought?

We all have them… those little moments of stupidity we wish we could take back. But when you’re a celebrity, it’s even worse. Because those silly little moments become known to everybody.

Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson have both had moments like that. We already know Ashlee’s “ooops moment” and Pete’s was that nude photo that got leaked to the Internet by his old girlfriend.

According to one source, Pete was “mortified when the pictures appeared online but Ashlee Simpson, who he only knew as a friend of a friend, comforted him about it, drawing from her own humiliating experience with the acid-reflux Saturday Night Live incident.”

He said Ashlee made him feel a lot better.

Isn’t it nice these two have each other to lean on? Laughing about the little things are what help keep a relationship strong.

Jessica Simpson was on Dancing With the Stars last week, and shortly after The Soup poked a little fun of her. Specifically, her use of the microphone.

I didn’t get to post this piece yesterday when with the rest of the photos and video, but wanted to share Jessica’s brief interview with the folks at Good Morning America.

Jessica talks about going back to country and making the Do You Know record with Dolly Parton. It’s actually a weird interview. Jessica is making her voice is bit twangy in the piece, and when she’s asked about being an aunt she says, “And it’s not my baby…. I’m the auntie.” I’m not sure if she was just nervous or what but it wasn’t the best interview I’ve seen her do.

Afterwards she sings “With You” which was the piece I posted yesterday. The interview is in the beginning of the video, however.

I’m sure Jessica Simpson never meant to get people all up in arms when she wore that “Real Girls Eat Meat” shirt. (Well, maybe she wanted to get Carrie Underwood all up in arms but no one else.) I’m all for people expressing their opinions, and if someone wants to eat meat or not eat meat, I could really give a care less.

But I’m NOT cool with people telling others how to live (with this being a free country and all). I was fine with Jess wearing the shirt, fine with the PETA folks saying why people shouldn’t eat meat. The problem I now have is that PETA is saying Jessica “doesn’t have the right to eat meat.”

Well, gosh, here in the good old U.S. of A. she sure as heck does. Apparently a spokesperson for PETA, Alistair Currie, said:

“Jessica Simpson might have a right to wear what she wants, but she doesn’t have a right to eat what she wants – eating meat is about suffering and death. Some people feel like they are standing up against a tide of political correctness when they make a statement like this – what she is really doing is standing up for the status quo.”

No, Alistair… what some people (Jessica) is doing is wearing a shirt to tell her boyfriend’s ex to get off of her back. Stop calling and emailing her man and let them live! THAT’S what she’s doing, NOT making a political statement.

Maybe instead of pontificating the folks at PETA could educate people. A little honey goes a long way, that’s what my granny used to say. (Especially when it’s on a nice big hunk of MEAT!)

So here’s one reason we all love Ashlee Simpson. She is human, and bounces back from her silly, stupid, and embarassing mistakes. In today’s world, anyone with a cell phone can catch us doing something stupid at one point in our lives or another. If you’ll recall, a couple years ago Ashlee was drunk, entered a McDonalds, and began to cause a scene. At one point she even tries to jump behind the counter.

It’s not the prettiest thing we’ve ever seen her do. Then again, haven’t we all done something we wish we wouldn’t have like this? It’s just that our mistakes aren’t filmed by someone lurking behind us with a cell phone. (Well, unless our friends want to embarass us later!)

And to think it was all over a little tee shirt. Have you heard this scuttlebutt? Apparently Jessica Simpson wore a red tee shirt to lunch yesterday that said, “Real Girls Eat Meet.”

Oh but what did it mean? Because we know that every move a star makes HAS to mean something.

My personal opinion is that Jess is sick of hearing about Carrie Underwood and perhaps wore the shirt because Carrie is one of the “no meat” gals, and also because Jess probably thought it was cute to wear alongside her meat-eating, football-throwing boyfriend.

But then PETA decided to make a statement, and oh boy were they snarky about it:

“Jessica Simpson’s meaty wardrobe malfunction makes us thankful that no one is looking to her for food advice. Chicken of the sea anyone? The woman who thought that Buffalo ‘Wings’ came from buffalos would benefit from some good veggie brain food,” said a spokesperson for PETA.

Were any of us running out to eat meet simply because our dear blonde Jess (with black roots, as shown here) wore a shirt that said to?

Ah….. (I thinking…. thinking….) that would be a “no.”

PETA’s “statement” appears to have garnered Jess some sympathy as well. Even Bill O’Reilly seemed to think this was amusing, calling her “a patriot.” Take a look:
