Enter to Win My Dad, My Hero

Image details: MBFW Miami Swim : Jessica Simpson - Front Row served by picapp.com
In honor of dads everywhere (even Jessica and Ashlee’s dad, Papa Joe Simpson), I thought it might be nice to do another giveaway.
I’ve a nice little book called My Dad, My Hero to give to one lucky Jess and Ashlee reader. The book is a short collection of quotes for dads, and makes a lovely gift for Father’s Day.
If you’d like to win, leave a comment on this post about the best thing a dad can do for his kids. I’ll choose a winner at random by end of day on Sunday, June 8th. I’ll announce the winner the following day.
Good luck!

The best thing a dad can do is to be there for his children. Be around for Pre-K. See him or her off to their first day of school. Participate in school functions, know what is going on in your child’s life. You can’t get the time back to be there at their high school graduation, their wedding, etc. Spend as much time with them as you can & be involved in their life.

Make time for them. No matter how busy his work might be, there should be nothing more important then a man’s children.

Hi, I happen to believe that I am married to the best husband and father there is! He is a “Dad!” in the most sincerest form. Our two sons idolize him. They can both talk with him about anything and the three of them love electronics and gadgets. They go shopping for all of the I-Pods, Cell Phones, Computers, and even camp out for early morning sales. Our youngest son is a Red Sox fan even though we live in the Midwest!
When they play in Kansas City, they make it a weekend trip. Our oldest son just went away to college last fall. He had a lot to deal with and my husband would drive 4 hours one way to bring him home on many weekend. Most of all, they see him treat me with respect and that is very important.
Many thanks,Cindi

One of the best and important things a Dad can give their child is unconditional love and an example of what it means to be a real, caring father. My husband was always a fantastic father.

Spending time and not working all the time. My dad when he wasn’t at work at the office, still worked hard in the fields, we had a dairy farm also. I knew it was important, but I missed him so much. I rarely saw him.

The best thing that my fiance can do for our brand new baby girl is to just be there for her as she is growing up, giving her love and support unconditionally.

To teach them to fly and reach for the stars. Be there to pick them up when they fall and most of all to let them go when it’s time for them to soar

The best thing a father can do is spend time with the kids whenever possible. He also must realize that sometimes this requires putting something he considers important aside if it can wait and your child wants to be with you. Life is just to short to take for granted–they grow up before you know it! Thank you for the contest!

always encourage their individuality

The best thing a dad can do for his kids is play with them on their level, and listen to them. My ex only gets to see the kids on the weekends, but he devotes all weekend to them exclusively. They have a better, more fulfilling relationship with him now then ever before.

You did not mention whether you would mail this book internationally. I am based in Asia. I wonder if this book can be purchased internationally or via internet, looks like a meaningful gift for daddy :)

The best thing a dad can do for his kiddos, other than being a spiritual leader, is go outside and play some ball with them!

Be there for their kids - simple as that!
May 30, 2008 at 1:23 pm
I believe that the best thing a father can do for his kids is to just be around for them and spend time with them. I remember all of the fun times I had as a child with my dad. I don’t remember which birthday presents or Christmas presents I received from him, I remember the times we spent together.
May 30, 2008 at 7:04 pm
love them
May 30, 2008 at 7:51 pm
The best thing a dad can do for his kids is show them how to love life. Every Sunday night, the father of our home turns on America’s Funniest Home videos and laughs his way through them. There’s popcorn and apples with lots of fun - and I know these are ways to be present with family and make memories from the little things. It’s instilling the love of life for three young kiddos!

The best thing a dad can do for their kids is to teach them how to “take the tough road.” There are few fathers these days who can guide their children through a difficult time with a good amount of useful advice. We need dads who can show their kids how to become better people, and better parents.
