Flashback Friday: Jessica and Ashlee Simpson Sing “Little Drummer Boy”
This clip from the Christmas special Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey did a few years back is one of my favorites. First of all, I can’t remember another time where Jessica and Ashlee actually did a duet. Second, Jessica clearly looks like she doesn’t want to sing with Ashlee, and Ashlee looks scared to be up on stage with her big sis. Jessica’s singing is completely over the top (as usual) and she refuses to harmonize with Ashlee.
When Ashlee is singing her part Jessica just stands there looking at her like, “Are you done yet?” Then Jess joins in and does the diva routine. It’s awesome. The old family pictures are very cute, though. It’s a fun clip. Enjoy:

why must you have such negative thoughts bout their relationship? Can’t they just be looking at each other?

I love the way Ashlee performs. She just has a carefree attitude, and seems very laid back. She always seems the same no matter what she is doing. Basically, what you see is what you get. With Jessica there seem to be two sides of her. Her performer side, and the ditzy side. She is gorgeous and has an amazing voice. But I think since Ashlee started to rise in fame, Jessica has been a little envious and jealous to share the spotlight. Especially since Ashlee is pregnant now.

@ rlc: Because they AREN’T just looking at each other, that’s why.
@ MK: You bring up a great point. I think that’s why Jessica’s singing theatrics are so annoying, because one minute she’s using a ditzy side, the next she’s using the diva side. It makes you wonder which one is really her. Perhaps country music will help bring out her natural side.
