John mayer Showers Jessica Simpson With Expensive and Rude Gifts

According to this article John Mayer first bought Jessica Simpson an expensive watch but then gave her a thesaurus telling her to learn more words.  Ouch!

Reports have claimed that singer John Mayer has purchased a variety of jewelry for his new love Jessica Simpson. The guitar master was recently spotted shopping at the ‘Wanna Buy a Watch’ store in West Hollywood where he reportedly bought his and hers vintage Rolex watches for Jess and John. But his latest purchase goes a bit deeper than that, according to a report from an Australian tabloid.

According to NW, John’s latest ‘gift’ for Jessica came during a trip to Il Piccolino Trattoria, a Los Angeles restaurant, with several of their friends. At one point in the evening, Mayer presented Simpson with his latest purchase, according to the report, which she was expecting to be romantic. Instead, she found herself holding a thesaurus. The Bosh points out that a snitch told NW, "[John] said she should know more words. The whole table erupted in laughter."

That seems a bit out of character for Mayer and kind of mean. Bosh reports: John’s cruel joke left Jessica feeling unappreciated and her friends and family very angry. They were already worried about the couple’s future after rumors recently started swirling that John had had a fling with Alicia Keys in New York.

But despite of her loved ones’ worries, Simpson appears to be getting closer to Mayer. And Mayer is said to be serious about her. He has even been telling his pals that Simpson "is the one he wants to settle down and start a family with," according to NW.
