Matt Lauer Interviews Ashlee Simpson on the Today Show
Ashlee Simpson performed live on the Today show yesterday, and I loved how the interview went before she sang. Matt Lauer asked her about her album and her engagement (natch) but then asked about THE PREGNANCY RUMOR.
This was the first time I saw Ashlee really answer it with grace and humility. I did NOT think the “inappropriate question” retort she gave to MTV was very cool, but I DID love the way she responded to Matt. She carefully sidestepped the question, saying if all the rumors were true she would have had two kids by now! (Funny and also true.)
She also said, “I AM giving birth to my new record on April 22nd, so that’s my baby.” Matt laughed and I did, too. Well done, Ashlee.
Here’s the interview. Doesn’t she seem very happy and in her element? This could be a renewed Ashlee.
