Pete Wentz and his band Fall Out Boy have recorded a version of the Simpson theme song, which will play tomorrow night.

That seems fitting, since they named their band after the Simpsons character (and sidekick to Radioactive Man). Can an appearance by Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson be far behind?

Jessica Simpson was busy promoting her new perfume Fancy this weekend in Chicago.

She signed autographs and chatted with fans at Macy’s. She also gave a short interview, telling one source, “I can’t wait to be a part of their show and let everyone know that I do actually sing and I’m not just in tabloids.”

Jessica stressed that she spent most of her time in Texas, and said that: “I am a very shy person, but I do believe that God has blessed me with a gift that I need to share. I always wanted to be entertaining in some way. Whether it’s cooking dinner for a best friend or [onstage], I try to do it up right.”

She also got a surprise that made her giggle when a young kid in a Tony Romo jersey stepped up to get an autograph. Apparently he looked like a “mini Tony.”

What I want to know is: What’s a young boy doing at Macy’s buying perfume! But I suppose Jessica has fans of every age and from every walk of life. Here are some more great photos from her appearance:

I just gotta say this: weren’t Nick and Jessica cute together during the Newlyweds days? I loved that show and all the promo work they did for it. For this flashback clip today, I’ve got their appearance on the Ellen show.

In the first part, Nick and Jess bring out peanut butter and banana as a snack for Ellen. Then they get right to the nitty gritty. Ellen asks them if fame is tearing them apart. It’s interesting, because they both seem to hesitate. Then they say “no” but it’s not very convincing. Then Nick jokes that they are bound by a television contract, so neither can go anywhere. THEN Nick jokes about getting a divorce.

They also reveal when they first met. Jessica then talks about how many guys she dated during that break up time that she and Nick had before they got married (answer: one) and then Jess says she’s a marrying girl and not a dating girl. She says she was meant to be married.

In the second part, they talk about their variety show and when they might start a family. Then Ellen talks about how messy Jessica is and gives her an awesome cleaning starter kit.

Ever since Jessica Simpson has gone country, she has worn some of the most ridiculous outfits on stage!

Take this get up that she had on at the San Manuel Bingo and Casino the night before last.

Is that a bandana? A tablecloth?

Jessica Simpson played at the Snoqualmie Casino over the weekend, and one of the best things from the show is this article which stated that Jessica switched over to country three years ago and “has enjoyed several hit albums and singles.”

In country? Not yet, pal. That’s someone who obviously didn’t do their homework.

Here’s a snippet from the concert. Looks like Jess is doing her microphone snogging routine again and also a lot of chatting. I wonder if she knows she’s supposed to just SING?

A few high school students from Weber High School in Utah got a special visit from Jessica Simpson to help kick off their homecoming week. According to one source, the students had to win a radio contest by sending text messages in order to get her to come to their school. Apparently “Weber High students sent 571,795 text messages to Salt Lake City-based radio station KUBL” and won the contest.

Jessica “talked about high school, her move from pop to country music, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo and how she relies on family, friends and faith to handle the public scrutiny that comes with fame.” The kids also got to see the video for “Come on Over” and a few even got some hugs and kisses from her.

Ashlee Simpson left La Scala yesterday through the backdoor, but photographers still managed to catch up with her.

Again, I’m amazed at how great she looks. She seems to have gained baby weight only in her bump and nowhere else! I love the top and necklace she has on here.

The Simpson Sisters were out at Eva Longoria’s Beso Restaurant last night and looked like they had a fab time. Ashlee left first, followed by Jessica and Ken Paves. Here’s a video clip of both of them:

Did you hear someone shout something about O.J. Simpson at Jessica? Weird! Jessica apparently got into the car and rolled the window down and started singing to her single, “Come on Over.” Ashlee, on the other hand, just drove away.

Ashlee Simpson made an in-store appearance at Zellers (as mentioned in the last post) and she was looking very cute with a black shirt and pant set on, and an orange scarf with skulls on it. (I would have never thought to put that together, but it looks good on her.)

The appearance was for the relaunch of the Request clothing line. I’ve got a few more pictures from that event:

After the event, Ashlee stopped at a Tony Roma’s for some chow.

Ashlee Simpson made an in-store appearance at Zellers over the weekend, and apparently she was as cute and charming as ever. Her best friend Lauren came along for the trip, and Ashlee revealed that the two of them will be working on a line a clothing in the near future. (Following in big sis’s footsteps.)

Ashlee also took questions from the crowd. She was asked which song was her favorite to perform (”Pieces of Me“), what she’s been up to these days (writing and getting ready to be a mom), and which video game she likes best (Super Mario Brothers).

She also talked about doing theater and movies sometime in the future. At the end, someone asked if Ashlee could sing a few lines from “Pieces of Me,” which she did (and sounded great.)
