OK! magazine is reporting that Jessica and Ashlee Simpson’s father/manager, Joe Simpson, crashed Nick Lachey’s pre-Super Bowl bash in Miami, Fla. earlier this week.

An eyewitness claims to have overheard Joe talking at Hotel 944 in Eden Roc Renaissance Miami Beach, exclaiming, “Nick doesn’t know I’m here!”

Apparently, OK! even informed Nick that Joe had been there, to which Nick responded:

“I haven’t talked to Joe in years. So be it.”

Sounds like an awkward situation!

BTW, doesn’t Joe look a little like a cross between Conan O’Brien and Nick Nolte in that photo?

Jessica Simpson recently Tweeted that her’s and Ash’s nan is in the hospital having a tumor removed. Though the event is obviously not a joyful one, Jess found ways to make it entertaining for herself and those around her.
Since her first Tweet about her grandmother having surgery, Jess posted this series of Tweets about events happening in the hospital:

We reported awhile ago that Ashlee Simpson-Wentz would be participating in Broadway’s Talk Back Tuesdays on January 19. Turns out she dished out quite a few nuggets of information!
When asked about life after the stage, she responded that she would be focusing on her maternal duties:
“I plan to take a little break after this. I’m going to take a break in the meantime and figure out what I’m going to do.”
However, she did spill about her musical goals for the future:
“But I will be making another record. In that time, you’ve got to make some music.”

Okay, so maybe it’s more like IN the Big Apple, rather than out of it.
Jessica Simpson was spotted yesterday arriving at the JFK International Airport in New York City, most likely flying in from California where she was spotte. Shortly thereafter, she and little sis Ashlee were seen exiting popular Mexican restaraunt Rosa Mexicano in NYC, both decked out in stylish black duds.
Looks like Jess’s hair is back to being somewhat straight. What a shame–her curly tresses were making quite the splash on the gossip blogs.

TV Guide recently graded the television shows that premiered in the fall. There were some obvious winners (Glee, Modern Family, The Good Wife) and losers (Hank, The Beautiful Life: TBL, Eastwick). But apparently, the 2009 Melrose Place revamp falls somewhere right in the middle.
The TV Guide gave Melrose a C+, emphasizing the good and the bad. The good? “Katie Cassidy brings the same delicious nastiness that Heather Locklear brought to the original. On the PIX Morning Show this morning, Ashlee Simpson-Wentz revealed that she didn’t even know whether the episode featuring her character’s last appearance had aired or not.
It hasn’t.
She also expressed no interest in returning to the show, even if they offered to bring her back! Doesn’t sound like she and Melrose are going to stay friends after that break-up…

There is no doubt that Ashlee Simpson-Wentz looked fantastic this morning as she traipsed around NYC, doing interviews and being an all-around classy city gal. However, when she and hubby Pete Wentz stepped out this afternoon, I couldn’t help but notice that they both had something on their face.
It’s celebrities without make-up! And that applies for Pete, too, considering he wears just about as much make-up as Ashlee does.

She looks absolutely beautiful. The pictures of her on the streets on NYC in the early morning hours look like an ad for Chanel. Ash gives true meaning to the term classy, with just a hint of rocker thrown in there to remind us where she comes from.
