Ashlee Simpson was in Europe last May (if you’ll remember) and I just caught an interview she gave other there in a cafe. She looks very cute (I’m already missing her red hair) and talks about her album Bittersweet World.

The reporter asks her about “Outta My Head” (my personal favorite off the album) and how the video came about. The guy also asks her about her “fiance” which is so funny to hear now since she’s an old married lady with a new baby! Makes you realize just how much has happened to Ashlee in a few short months.

Well this opinion is a bit harsh. In listing the “Crappiest Albums of 2008″ they picture both Do You Know and Bittersweet World right at the top.

I know neither album sold as well as their previous releases, but still. The worst? I don’t think so.

First of all, Jessica’s first single “Come on Over” was a hit. The trouble was that it was the only hit off of the album. The article says this about the album, “Jessica Simpson’s stinker, Do You Know, dropped off the face of the earth (aka the Billboard Top 100) in only six weeks.”

Ouch!

Little sister Ashlee didn’t get any more kudos either. They said of Bittersweet World, “as toxic as her sister’s album, the effects of its radiation cloud will be felt for generations.” However, the album did sell over 50,000 in the first weekend alone.

Besides that, I genuinely liked the music of Bittersweet World. Must be that 80s thing, but I really did enjoy the music. Who could get “Outta My Head” out of their head? Not me.

One site reports that Ashlee Simpson is a very popular pregnant celebrity these days. Parents says Ashlee is the second favorite pregnant celeb in a new poll.

Hey, I admire her too but what the heck does it take to be a “favorite pregnant celeb”? Perhaps it’s how cute you look:

Perhaps it’s how much you refuse to admit you’re pregnant in the first place?

Or maybe it’s the ability to wear a scarf with skulls on it and still look stylish?

Who knows. But we definitely agree, Ashlee is our favorite pregnant celeb as well!

One of the shows I really liked last year was Pushing Daisies. I can’t wait for that show to come back on the air. Well I was browsing Youtube and found this great fan video of Pushing Daisies set to Ashlee Simpson’s “L.O.V.E.” I really liked it. Hope you do, too. Enjoy:

Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz seem to be enjoying themselves this summer. Neither are on tour and they are happily getting ready to be first-time parents.

It should be no surprise that they were spotted recently at a bakery buying pastries. I mean, Ashlee is pregnant, so why not indulge? I love the dress she has on in this picture as well. It really helps hide the baby bump but at the same time looks cool and hip. (That’s hip, not hippie. Thankfully it looks like Ashlee has abandoned that look for awhile!)

Just yesterday we talked about Ashlee’s sister Jessica dragging her dog everywhere, and now it looks like Ashlee is trying to do the same. The Sun has a photo of Ashlee (in the same dress as above) lugging her English bulldog Hemingway around. Now, while Jessica’s dog Daisy is just the right size to be carried, I’m not so sure Hemingway is small enough to do the same! Obviously Ashlee is practicing to be a mommy and having to carry a kid, groceries, and her purse around. (Or will she have an assistant do all that?)

A recent tidbit from FoxNews questioned how far along Ashlee Simpson really is in her pregnancy. A reporter said she was “Fresh-faced and glowing, a makeup-free Simpson wore a long, flowing, boho dress, but that still didn’t hide her very remarkable baby bump.”

Well, gee…. some ladies just gain the weight a little faster than others. That’s all. (We think.) Of course given the nature of things we’ve heard about the baby, no baby, marriage, no wedding, honeymoon in basement, etc., etc., we’ll all just have to wait and see I guess.

We know Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz are just the cutest couple ever. Here’a a video montage of the two of them set to “The Luckiest.” Very cute.

So says Petit Tresor, the super glam store for all things baby. (Brangelina and J-Lo are two celebs who have frequented the store for their twins.) CelebTV reports that Ashlee and Pete filled out a baby registry in which “almost everything is blue.”

Well I say, maybe they like BLUE!

A salesperson for Petit Tresor blabbed that “it was very clear” they were having a boy. But are we really believing these people? After all, as Hollyscoop has pointed out, “Petit Tresor is the same store that got slapped with a huge lawsuit a few months ago for selling fake stories to the press about Tom Cruise and Suri.”

And I suppose it’s not like we can ask Pete Wentz. He’ll tell us they’re having triplets or something and will be joking about it the entire time. Guess we just have to wait and see until we get a better source.
