Jessica Simpson’s sweetie Tony Romo is reportedly out of commission until “at least mid-November.” Wonder if there’s a Cabo trip in the works?

Well Jessica’s back now from the trip to Cabo, and all seems as if she never left. After all, there’s a new rumor that she was cheating on Tony Romo with Jared Leto (which Jared denies), and now there’s a speculation that Jess and Tony are getting back together. Or that they were never really apart. Or that they were apart because they took a short break after a rough patch.

Yeah…. aren’t you glad this isn’t YOUR love life?

Still Dallas columnist Alan Peppard (who, if you’ll remember first confirmed their break up) is now saying they were spotted having dinner together since Jess has been back in the states.

Peppard says that after the big Ashlee and Pete shindig, “Tony headed back to Texas for the Colonial golf tourney while Jessica went to Cabo San Lucas with her parents.” (Thanks to Shelly for the link!)

The story goes on to say that Jess and Tony “shared a corner booth for two at N9NE Steakhouse in downtown Dallas’ Victory Park.”

Apparently the time apart did some good. (If you’re rooting for them to get back together. Or some bad if you’re not.)

Personally, I’ve seen enough of this Jess and Tony drama to see that these two kids are not right for each other. There has been too many break up to make ups. Too much Papa Joe meddling. Even if they ARE back together this time, it won’t be for long.

I have to say, as a Packers fan, I’m very supportive of Jessica Simpson’s relationship with Tony Romo. (**she said with tongue in cheek**) Because if you ask most football fans if Jess is a bad luck charm to Tony, they’d probably agree.

In my opinion, however, it’s not that she’s bad luck but there’s no doubt about the fact that she’s a distraction. I don’t blame her for Tony losing. I do, however, think that he isn’t as focused as he should be. No quarterback that is headed for the playoffs should be taking time off (with someone as lovely as Jess or not) to go to Cabo. Cabo could have waited until football season is over.

Fans have lashed out with their anger by saying Jessica is bad luck. Even President Bush has got in on the act saying “We’re gonna send Jessica Simpson to the Democratic National Convention.”

But Jess tells the folks at Glamour that “That was ludicrous. I don’t understand why they think that I would be a distraction to Tony. Do they really think he can see way far up in that box? No. He’s the most focused person I’ve ever dated.”

No, Jess, we don’t think he can see you that far up in the box, and I don’t think that’s why people think you’re a jinx, either.

I don’t think Jessica gets it. If she’s dating a football player it can’t be about her and the attention she needs all the time. I’ll be curious to see how much longer this relationship lasts once football season starts again.

Is Joe Simpson too much of a butt-insky with his daughter’s relationships?

Well Ashlee seems to be thriving with Pete Wentz, but what about Jessica? Some folks blame Papa Joe for breaking up Jess and Nick Lachey, saying he put too much pressure on them by getting them involved in the Newlywed’s TV show. Besides that, he’s ALWAYS AROUND, and that’s never good for two people in a relationship.

Now OK Magazine says Papa Joe may have become a negative influence for Jessica and Tony Romo’s relationship as well.

It seems like Tony and even his family feel that Joe is simply around too much. OK says, “[Tony] family’s view seems to be that Jess and her dad, Joe Simpson, are bringing Tony down,” a source tells OK!. “I think they are ruining his image, as well as trying to capitalize on his fame, in order to boost hers.”

It’s obvious Jessica is trying for attention. She’s hanging on to Tony like a desperate woman, and the recent cake licking incident was a bit low even for her. And you have to wonder how those pictures got to the Web so darn fast, besides!

Jessica has even been called a jinx after Tony’s team, the Dallas Cowboy’s, failed to make the playoffs. She lured him to Mexico right before where Tony took his attention off football and focused it on her. OK shares a quote from a source that says of the trip, “Everybody agreed to tell no one about the trip,” says the source. “On the day they were flying out, who shows up? Joe Simpson. Tony and the other guys thought it was weird.”

So is this Joe’s fault? Or Jessica’s? She’s 27 now, not 12. It’s time Jess stands on her own and stops trying to be the “daddy’s girl.”

So maybe Tony Romo started a trend when he jetted off to Cabo with Jessica Simpson. I mean, sure, he ended up losing the next game and might have cost his team a shot at the Superbowl, but hey…. he had a great time so maybe it was worth it.

Now Matt Leinart looks like he’s following in Tony’s footsteps. According to one source, he was spotted in a out partying with not one hot women but four of them. In this Internet-centric world, the pictures have made it to virtual villages everywhere. But Sportsday says “it was probably the picture of Leinart holding a beer bong that got Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt all hot and bothered.”

Yeah, that would do it. Hopefully he can shrug it all off like Tony’s done.
