Things Jessica Simpson Wish Would Just Go Away
January 27, 2009 by Cherie
We all cringe when we see certain things again… like pictures of us with that awful 80s hair, mall bangs, or stone washed denim.
Celebs are no different. Especially Jessica Simpson. She’s done plenty of things that she probably regrets. Several things she probably tries to block out of her mind. And a few that she wishes would just plain go away. Like these, for instance:
Unlike Ashlee (who dyes her hair for a fun change of pace), Jessica’s brown hair reminds her that she was once willing to change so badly in order to keep a man she thought changing her look to something “more serious looking” would make her smarter or more interested. (Note to every single female on the face of the earth: changing yourself does not make a guy who already doesn’t really love you want to love you more!)

The Sex Tape Rumor

This is the rumor that just won’t die. Who knows if it’s really true? I have YET to see anyone that has any evidence that it is. It started way back when Jess was married to Nick Lachey, and has continued on through every relationship she’s had since.

The Curse

It stinks to be dating a new guy and be totally and completely in love… only to have all of his fans claim that you are a CURSE. Of COURSE Jess isn’t a curse. She might not “get” that Tony should NOT be going to Cabo on a bye-week and should not have distractions… but that’s Tony’s issue not hers.

Carrie Underwood

Jessica and Carrie have both claimed that there isn’t anything going on between them. No rivalry, no hatred, not even an ounce of dislike. But you know that probably isn’t true. Carrie saying that she still talks to Tony and the whole “Real Girls Eat Meet” incident have not helped this relationship.

Jessica Simpson Absent from the Country Music Awards
November 13, 2008 by Cherie
Notice anything funny about last night’s CMA awards?
How about the fact that Jessica Simpson wasn’t there. This, for some reason, surprised me. Even though Carrie Underwood was the host, I still thought Jessica might be on hand either to announce or at least sit in the audience! After all, as TMZ pointed out, even Hugh Jackman, Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon and Lil Wayne were there! You’d have thought with that list of celebs they could have squeezed room for Jessica to at least attend.
No, more than, you’d think with a new country album (which is mildly successfuly so far) they would at least allow Jess to announce an award.
Instead, TMZ reports that she was playing a casino in Ontario, California where half the tickets are still available right.
Do you think Jessica should have been there?
Carrie Underwood “Feels Bad” for Jessica Simpson
November 6, 2008 by Cherie
So get this: Carrie Underwood has given another magazine interview, this time for Elle, where she talks once again about Tony Romo.
Does that girl know the meaning of the word “no comment”? Is it just me or is always trying to stir up trouble with our Jessica?
E! says Carrie confided that she hasn’t talked to Tony “since, like, May” and that her comment about him calling was “just something that was said in passing.” Then she claimed that she would never - OH NEVER - “say anything to hurt anybody or to stir up anything because I’m just not about drama – at all.”
Oh no, Carrie, not at all. We can totally see that…. NOT!
If she’s not about drama, then why go on and on about your ex-boyfriend anyways? And saying she talked to him in May is still saying he called her. Jessica claims she has no hard feelings for Carrie, but wouldn’t it irritate you a little bit if your boyfriend’s former girlfriend just kept talking about him publicly?
The interview with Elle will be in the December issue, btw. Ya’ll make sure you go and read it now, ya hear?
Carrie Underwood Says: There Ain’t No Feud With Jessica Simpson!
October 27, 2008 by Cherie
Despite blabbing to Allure magazine over the summer that she still gets calls from Tony Romo, Carrie Underwood claims that she doesn’t have a single beef (pardon the pun) with Jessica Simpson.
Carrie said recently “I met her once and she seemed really nice so I don’t have a feud with anybody.”
Hmmm….. the plot thickens. Do you think she perhaps DOES have it in for Jessica but doesn’t want to sound petty? Maybe she realized that her Allure interview was probably a bit gauche. I mean, if it she DOES get calls from her ex, why blab in a magazine about it unless you have it in for the new girl he’s dating?
Ken Paves and the Hissy Fit Over Carrie Underwood
In the “I don’t believe this” department, I caught a post on one site about a “rant” from Ken Paves to some fan that asked Jessica Simpson about Carrie Underwood.
Apparently a fan approached Jess backstage after her concert at the Grand Ole Opry, and since Jessica was already “crabby” because she felt as if she did poorly she at first welcomed the fan’s positive feedback. But then the fan asked Jess about Carrie, and apparently “Jessica and her mother just glared at the guy” and that’s when Ken Paves went off on the guy.
I say this is bull. Who is with me?

CMT’s Hazel Smith Dishes About Jessica Simpson
Well, the Carrie Underwood versus Jessica Simpson saga continues. I don’t think Jessica is dragging this thing out, but it’s obvious some folks in country music are jumping on it (and taking Carrie’s “side”.)
Remember how I told you that ABC had chosen Jess’s song “Come on Over” to help promote the CMA Music Festival’s Country Night to Rock? It appears some folks at Country Music Television weren’t up for that decision.
Here’s a video of CMT’s Hazel Smith on why ABC should have chosen Carrie Underwood instead of Jess.
I think Jess’s song makes a perfect choice for this program since she’s crossing over and it’s new and hot right now. What do you think?
Jessica Simpson Talks to 107.5 The River
August 28, 2008 by Cherie
Jessica Simpson gave an interview to radio station 107.5-The River last week where she talked about the usual subjects: her new country album, boyfriend Tony Romo, the fued with Carrie Underwood, and of course, farting. (That’s our Jess!)
Let’s start with the most interesting one first. It’s obvious Papa Joe has done some damage control with the whole Carrie Underwood thing and I think it’s good. Jessica has been answering this question very smartly. Take a listen.
I’m not sure I believe that Jessica didn’t know that Carrie was a vegetarian, but I couldn’t blame her for wearing the shirt even if she did. Carrie seems to be adding fuel to this fire by saying publicly in an interview that Tony still calls her. I’d say the issue is Tony here, if he is calling Carrie all the time he might be trying to get Jess jealous on purpose.
I’m not the only one that’s noticed how Jessica is answering questions differently about Carrie these days. The Country Hound quotes Jessica as saying:
“People are just trying to make a story out of nothing. I respect her and hopefully she respects me. We’ve just dated the same guy — that’s it! I think it’s impressive how many No. 1s Carrie Underwood has,” Simpson said. “Her choice in songs is really great, and she has an incredible voice. As far as new people, she has one of the strongest voices out there.”
This is a very smart answer, especially given the fact that Jessica and Carrie will probably be seeing lots of each other in the upcoming months (and years) at country shows.
As a side note, did you catch the last thing Jessica said on the video? It was an ever so slight slam against Pam Anderson. Right on Jess!
In this next part of the interview, Jessica talks about “the curse” that fans have blamed her for.
This next part of the interview is probably my least favorite. For some reason both Simpson sisters tend to talk quite a bit about burping and farting. Jessica mentions it here in this segment.
I think there’s no reason to be talking about this in interviews, and I wondered why Jessica keeps bringing it up. Then I read this bit from CMT (Country Music Television) in which the reporter speculated, “Country artists, especially the women, tend to do better when fans realize they’re just normal people who do normal things.”
Hmm. Could it be Papa Joe’s hand at work again? Or just a candid Jessica moment?
Meanwhile, Ted Casablanca from E! Online says that Jessica “just signed herself up for a membership with the Country Music Association, meaning she can nominate and vote for CMA Awards.”
Carrie Underwood Still Gets Calls from Tony Romo
August 22, 2008 by Cherie
Carrie Underwood is on the September issue of Allure magazine, and gives an interview about country music, fame, and ex-boyfriends. When asked about her ex Tony Romo, she said:
“We were both small-town people doing very big things, and we relied on each other, dealing with fame,” she says. And now? “I don’t know. The phone will ring and it’ll be him, and I’ll maybe not answer.”
What the heck is that supposed to mean? That makes me think Tony is calling her all the time and sometimes she’s picking it up and sometimes she’s playing hard to get. Is she a friend to him or not? Besides all that, this information CAN’T make Jessica Simpson very happy.
The reporter that interviewed her said she had developed a girl crush on Carrie, and that she “comes across as vulnerable, likeable, frugal, slightly confused and young.”
Anywho, Carrie did say something that I liked. She talked about the inequities of country music between men and women. People in the “biz” don’t always talk about that stuff, but I know it exists. I was actually surprised that Carrie talked about it, but I suppose that’s part of that “coming across young” thing that the reporter mentioned.
Carrie also might get a bunch of country gals together and go on tour someday. She said:
“I want to have a girls-only tour and get some awesome chicks together, and have us all go out and,” Underwood beams a happy smile out toward this future, “kick butt.”
If she did, I think it would be very cool if she’d invite Jessica Simpson along. For real. They could put this eating meat, stealing boyfriend thing aside and show the world they’re more together and mature than say…. Tony Romo. What do you think?
Jessica Simpson Booed at Country Music Festival
July 21, 2008 by Cherie
Jessica Simpson had hoped to make her country debut a huge success with her performance this past weekend at Country Thunder USA in Wisconsin. However, the crowds booed her as she walked on stage. Fox News says Jessica tried to calm the crowd by saying, “I don’t know what your perception is of Jessica Simpson or what tabloid you buy, but I just want you to know that I’m just a girl from Texas; I’m just like you. I’m doing what I love and dating a boy.”
Fox also says Jessica wore her latest country uniform of “a white button-down and cowboy boots” and that she performed songs by Shania Twain and Willie Nelson before performing a couple from upcoming album, Do You Know?
Does that mean that country won’t embrace Jessica? Not necessarily.
After all, since she was in Wisconsin, perhaps there were a few Tony Romo fans there that just didn’t like the fact that Jess is dating Tony. (Tony is from Wisconsin).
Or, since Carrie Underwood opened the show, there might have been a few fans that didn’t like Jessica’s “Real Girls Eat Meat” tee shirt.
It certainly wasn’t the best start for a new career change. Will Jessica be able to overcome the hatred of the country fans? Stay tuned.

The Tony Romo, Carrie Underwood, Jessica Simpson Triangle Continues

Just when the whole “Real Girls Eat Meat” thing has died down, there’s yet another hooha stirred into the ever evolving Carrie Underwood/Jessica Simpson “rivalry.”
Here’s the latest: Jessica will kick off her country career (officially) on July 19th by playing at Country Thunder USA which happens to be in Twin Lakes, Wisconsin. Tony will be there to see her play. Before you give the guy some credit, however, he’s going to the music festival a couple days earlier, so he can hang with Carrie Underwood. (Carrie kicks off the festival on July 16th.)
Now if you’re Jessica, and you’re about to start up a whole new career, wouldn’t it be nice to actually have the full (and not distracted) support of your boyfriend?
Perhaps we should be on the lookout for what kind of tee shirt Jessica will be wearing at the festival.
