We told you about that ABC Special for the Troops that featured tons of great artists, like our very own Jessica Simpson. Here are a couple videos from that special night.

The first is Jessica introducing and then performing with ZZ Top. What a thrill that had to be for her! They sang, “Sharp Dressed Man” and Jessica sang along and also danced. Check it out.

Next Jessica sang “These Boots Were Made for Walking” and then “God Bless America.” I’ll admit I didn’t care for the “Boots” performance. I’m really sick of hearing her sing that song because I think it doesn’t fit her image or her vocals. But the performance on “God Bless America” is awesome. She’s in great voice and it’s quite a moving performance. Both performances are on the following video.

Pete Wentz will be using his DJ skills at a celebrity gig for Donald Trump. Pete will join Christina Aguilera in performing for The Donald’s opening for the new Trump International Hotel and Tower in Dubai.

But here’s the kicker: The event isn’t being held in Dubai, it’s going to be in L.A. Well I suppose L.A. IS the center of the universe…. or not. Apparently Trump is trying to get the Hollywood folk interested in the gig by having it locally. And really, how many of us have time to fly out to Dubai?

Still, it should be an interesting gig. Maybe Donald can give Pete some parenting tips?

Jessica Simpson attended the opening of the Palms Place Hotel and Spa in Vegas on Saturday along with her sister Ashlee and new brother-in-law Pete Wentz. I commented in the last post that Ashlee’s outfit was pretty horrible, but I’m not sure Jessica’s is much better.

The dress is okay, but it looks ill-fitted to her. It doesn’t flatter her figure or look comfortable, for that matter. And the earrings are like something my grandma would have worn thirty years ago.

On the plus side, I do like her hair and makeup better than Ashlee’s. Jess always looks nice with her hair up and at least she went without the horrible lipstick that her sister had on.
