Jessica Simpson on The Ellen DeGeneres Show

November 20, 2008 by Cherie

Well we just had the flashback
with Nick and Jess on Ellen.
Now here’s her appearance on the show yesterday.

Here’s the very cute promo with Ellen talking about the upcoming show:

Chace Crawford was also on the show, and talked about parking Jessica’s car before he was famous:

Here’s Jess’ interview.

I think she did a great job, don’t you?

Jessica sang “Remember That” live:

Did you notice how she had the same outfit on here as she did the other day when she was leaving Katsuya the other night?

Video Flashback: Jessica Simpson Singing “With You” on Oprah

October 26, 2008 by Cherie

Jessica Simpson has been singing “With You” in her country performances recently, but when the song first came out she was actually married to Nick Lachey and they were promoting their reality show Newlywed’s.

Here’s Jess on Oprah singing “With You,” live. But perhaps my favorite part of this video is that the teaser at the bottom flashes “silicon breast implants coming back?” along the bottom at the beginning of her number. Immediately following THAT is “a one-on-one with President Bush.”

An unfortunate combination of words, I’d say.

Be sure to watch through to the end, where we see Jessica sitting on Nick’s lap talking about watching football with a tee shirt on. It’s an interesting foreshadow to today, because she does mention wearing his (Nick’s) jersey.

Video: Jessica Simpson on the Rachel Ray Show

September 16, 2008 by Cherie

Jessica Simpson was on the Rachel Ray Show yesterday morning making chicken and dumplings. The segment starts off kind of odd, with Rachel washing her hands and Jessica just kind of standing there. Then Jess decides to wash her hands, too.

Jess says the recipe is supposed to be a lowfat version, which Rachel kind of poo-poos. Rachel says, “Eat a salad and it will all even out.” (True enough.) Jess admits that she’s kinda lazy when it comes to cooking but she uses short cuts that help her out, like using already made chicken.

The segment is rather uncomfortable because at first Jessica doesn’t seem to know what she wants to say, or if she’s supposed to be really pre-making the dumplings. But then she seems to get going and it runs a bit more smoothly. Jess talks about Tony Romo, and she adds that he lives with three guys. (Which made me think: Does that mean she isn’t moving in with him?) Jess admits that Tony is a pizza guy so she doesn’t really cook for him.

As a side note, isn’t Rachel Ray’s hair adorable?

Before the cooking segment, Jess and Rachel sat down and talked about her new album and fragrance. In typical Jess fashion, she talked about burbing and farting. (Why does she always have to do that?)

Before Jessica left, she got to hold some baby lions. So cute.

Jessica Simpson on Letterman Last Night

Jessica Simpson appeared on the David Letterman Show last night to promote her new country album, Do You Know. Letterman starts out by talking about Tony Romo, and asking Jess how she and Tony met (on the set of a movie she was doing), where they went on their first date (to dinner), and about the “jinx” nickname fans have given her. In typical Jess fashion, she gets on the subject of “the cup” in sports (yes, THAT cup) where Jess and Letterman discuss whether or not football players wear them. (Jess says no, Letterman yes, and Jess is right.)

She started to get into her “dumb blonde” routine which I didn’t care for after this, but the rest of the interview was charming and lovely. She spoke honestly about her big oops with messing up the words to “9 to 5” at the Kennedy Center honors for Dolly Parton a couple years ago, and how now she is working with Dolly because of that.

I think you’ll enjoy this clip.

Flashback: Ashlee Simpson Sings “Catch Me When I Fall” on Saturday Night Live

August 1, 2008 by Cherie

If it’s one thing I like about Ashlee Simpson, it’s that she has the ability to bounce back from disappointment. Both the Simpson sisters really have the ability to move on from things, which is probably due to the strong influence of their parents.

After the disasterous Saturday Night Live appearance in which Ashlee lip synched, then danced a jig nervously, she was invited back. She chose to sing “Catch Me When I Fall,” from the I Am Me CD. She wrote this song after her first SNL appearance and the lyrics really reflect the hurt she felt at the time:

“Who will be the one to save me from myself
Who will be the one who´s there
And not ashamed to see me crawl
Who´s gonna catch me when I fall.”

She must have felt very unprotected and silly for having listened to her dad. I know her dad just wanted the best for her, but in retrospect it would have been better to either cancel the appearance or sing away (acid reflux or no.)

However, life isn’t perfect. And what happens… happens. We can only learn from our mistakes and move on. Ashlee did that with this appearance:

Jessica Simpson on the View

June 25, 2008 by Cherie

Jessica Simpson was on The View today to promote her new single, “Come on Over.”

Of course The View ladies couldn’t let her get away with just singing. They asked her about Tony Romo and she said, “We’re still together … we’ve been together for about seven months — almost eight,” she said. “I don’t know about wedding bells … but I’m still with him, so that’s a good sign.” ~source

It’s gotta be really craptacular to have to talk about your on again/off again boyfriend on national TV. I feel for her.

On a more positive note, she sounded great and finally did away with those ridiculous theatrics that make her look like a Christina Aguilera wannabe. Country does seem to suit her better. Here’s the video:
