Oh the days when Pete Wentz denied that Ashlee Simpson was pregnant. Oh wait! That was just last month.

Now, Pete is happy as a pig in slop to talk about his impending fatherhood. He said he’s excited and looking forward to every minute of diaper duty. He said, “I’m genuinely a nervous person in general but I’m really excited to be a dad. The first time I ever went to the doctor’s office and heard the baby’s heartbeat, I felt totally content and at peace with everything.”

That’s just a sweet sentiment! No wonder Ashlee is gaga over this guy.

When asked about why he originally lied and said Ashlee is not pregnant, he said he wanted to wait until Ash was at least three months along before confirming that.

Kind of makes us forgive him for lying, doesn’t it? I’d probably do the same thing in his shoes.

So, we kinda figured this was coming, right? Ashlee Simpson-Wentz canceling her planned tour for Bittersweet World.

I mean, the girl can’t be jumping all over the place while on tour!

Wait… J-Lo did it. And she was pregnant with twins. Hmmm.

Still, I don’t blame Ashlee for wanting to focus on her family life right now.

And by the way, did you see the new name? Yep, Ashlee is taking Pete’s last name. One source quotes Ash as saying, “I think that’s something that a woman should do when they’re marrying a man.”

It doesn’t surprise me that Ashlee is taking Pete’s name. When all is said and done, I think both her and Jess are traditional gals and they want a traditional (and somewhat old-fashioned) life.

Ashlee Simpson loves to get herself some nakedness. She must.

She tells one source that she once crashed a party she sister was having naked. She said, “I used to wind my sister Jessica up. Once, when I was small, Jessica had all her friends round and I burst into the room naked.”

This is when they were much younger, of course.

Then again, Ashlee flashed her birthday suit at Pete Wentz the first time they met, too. She said, “I lifted my dress over my head and it was love at first sight.”

Well…. it must have worked. Ashlee and Pete are married now, and enjoying themselves. Here they were at a Memorial Day party over the weekend. Do you like Pete’s homemade mask? He has such a great sense of humor - no wonder Ashlee is so happy.

Here’s one thing Ashlee Simpson can say she did before her sister: get pregnant.

We told ya the news way back on April 14th, when OK! Mag confirmed the fact that Ashlee was preggers. But Ashlee and Pete chose to remain quiet on the subject. Until now, that is.

Ashlee and Pete have now said all those rumors are true. Pete wrote on his website, “While many have speculated about this, we wanted to wait until after the first trimester to officially confirm that we are expecting our first child. “This is truly the most joyous time in our lives and we are excited to share the happy news and start our family.”

Awww. We wish them the very best and can’t wait to meet the new Fall Out Baby.

Ashlee Simpson’s wedding photo was released from People today. She looks beautiful (of course) and is wearing “an ivory lace Monique Lhuillier gown and a cathedral-length veil.”

People also indicated the ceremony had “10,000 black magic roses, red-and-black décor and chandeliers dripping with crystals” but “felt more like a sweet fairy tale.”

The issue of People complete with pictures will be out on Friday.

Pete Wentz had a blast at his bachelor party, and even invited his dad (also named Pete Wentz) and his father-in-law, Papa Joe Simpson.

Coincidentally, Pete’s new sister-in-law Jessica was out partying (drowing her sorrows?) nearby Thursday night. OK! Magazine says Jess was at Hennessy’s Jazz Night at Teddy’s with some friends when Pete spotted her and stopped over to say hello.

“When Jessica saw him, she was completely surprised,” a fellow partygoer tells OK!. “All the girls yelled ‘Pete,’ and Jess jumped up and ran over to him and gave him a big hug.”

Aw. It looks like Pete wanted to start out married life right by going out of his way to acknowledge his new sister-in-law.

Apparently Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo will place nice, if for nothing else than the sake of sister Ashlee’s wedding today. This means either the two are in the middle of a fight but not yet done, or that they’re just coming together so Jess doesn’t have t be alone on the day of her sister’s wedding.

My guess? They’re just trying to work out their differences.

One source says Jessica and Tony “met for a casual Japanese lunch at Katsuya in L.A. on Friday, arriving separately and greeting with a kiss.”

Wouldn’t you love to be a fly on the wall to hear that conversation? I can imagine it:

JESSICA: How can you leave me alone for my sister’s wedding?

TONY: You’re putting too much pressure on me. All this marriage and babies talk is too much.

JESSICA: But you’re my love! My life!

TONY: Sure, but I’m not proposing to you. You have to stop calling yourself “Mrs. Romo.”

JESSICA: (Pauses…) Can I still call myself a football wife?

TONY: No.

JESSICA: (Pouting)…. You better come with me to that wedding or I will stalk you like nobody’s business.

TONY: Fine! But wear a slutty outfit or I’m outa there.

We knew Jessica Simpson was slightly jealous of her sister’s engagement, but this is ridiculous!

One source says Jessica is definitely engaged to her man Tony Romo, and was even toasting to her “happiness at a party thrown by P. Diddy” recently.

This same source claims “Jessica, who has been dating Tony for six months, even considered proposing to Tony herself” and that she pointed out several rings she liked in magazines to Tony, even when he was with his pals.

Is our girl desperate, or what? Even if her and Tony are super-happy (and considering marriage) Jess HAS to slow down and think this one through. After all, her track record of feeling unsettled is not that great.

Pete Wentz gave an interview to OK magazine the other day and chatted about Fall Out Boy, his new clothing line, and of course, his upcoming wedding to Ashlee Simpson.

And here’s one reason I really like Pete. When asked about the recent “failure” to achieve the Guiness Record for playing on seven different continents in a week, here’s what he said:

“This is the thing — It’s really boring to watch somebody win all the time. The great stories in history are interesting when someone has a “down.” You wouldn’t watch Walk The Line if Johnny Cash didn’t go through a down. The great thing about an attempt is that you can continue to make an attempt.”

What a great attitude. He really comes across as a sincere guy. And that’s hard to do!

Sorry, folks, he didn’t confirm the pregnancy rumors. Oh well!
