Tony Romo Won’t Be Hitting Balls in the U.S. Open

Tony Romo apparently thinks he can do it all. Well, maybe he can, but he certainly can’t do it all well.

In case you haven’t heard, Tony was trying out for a spot in the U.S. Open. He shot “5-over 75 yesterday in a qualifying event for the Open, finishing four shots out of a playoff for the eighth and final spot for a chance to compete in sectional qualifying.”

He also says “he hasn’t been able to practice or prepare for the golf event — since he’s “got a lot of football stuff.”

So if he didn’t have time to practice, why even go? Or is showing up for sporting events unprepared getting to be a habit of his?

In case you’re recognizing a tone, you’re right. This irritates me. If Tony has finished out the season without going to Cabo with Jessica Simpson during his lone bye week during the playoffs, I might not be as ticked. After all, if he would have qualified for the U.S. Open he would have missed some of team practice and strategy sessions. Not that Tony needs to watch film. Oh no…. he’s too good for that.
