Think Ashlee is secretly celebrating today?

You heard it here first! According to one source, Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz will be married one week from today “at a private home in Los Angeles.”

I’d heard another rumor that they’d be married very soon, but part of me thinks Ashlee would like to settle in to this “engagement” thing a while longer.

Photographers caught up with Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz as they were arriving at a downtown hotel in New York City. Check out Pete’s huge sunglasses:

Man, those two travel a lot! They were both just in Europe, now in New York. While in London Ashlee spoke to reporters about other young celebs who have been all over the news for their out of control behavior, and she says she’s not like that.

She said, “I’m almost 24, I’m pretty together and I’m getting married.”

True. I would agree with that, wouldn’t you? She also says Pete’s a great influence on her, supportive yet honest. Ashlee did claim that the folks in her life didn’t have control over her, which I think is an interesting statment given the fact that her dad is her manager. I think Ashlee has really been able to break out on her own, while her sister has fallen more under the influence of Papa Joe. Could this be because Jessica was so doted on when she was younger that she craves that attention now? While Ashlee learned early on to do her own thing? If so, it means Ashlee is probably in a stronger place in her life right now than her sister was at that age.

We knew Jessica Simpson was slightly jealous of her sister’s engagement, but this is ridiculous!

One source says Jessica is definitely engaged to her man Tony Romo, and was even toasting to her “happiness at a party thrown by P. Diddy” recently.

This same source claims “Jessica, who has been dating Tony for six months, even considered proposing to Tony herself” and that she pointed out several rings she liked in magazines to Tony, even when he was with his pals.

Is our girl desperate, or what? Even if her and Tony are super-happy (and considering marriage) Jess HAS to slow down and think this one through. After all, her track record of feeling unsettled is not that great.

Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz continued their tour through Europe as they arrived at Riverside Studios to sign autographs. It must have been exciting for fans to get a close up glimpse of Ashlee’s engagement ring. Of course, we have the next best thing: pictures:

Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz hit the red carpet at the Bravo Supershow this past weekend in Germany.

Fans were very happy to see her and Pete, and Ashlee was kind enough to stop and sign autographs. Take a quick look at their arrival:

I swear Ashlee is fast becoming the queen of the reappearing baby bump. On some photos she definitely looks pregnant, like here for example:

I definitely see a little bump. Ashlee normally has a very flat stomach, and this looks obvious to me. During other pictures, it’s not as clear.

Here’s Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz walking through Heathrow Airport after a tour of London. Don’t you love how they are always holding hands? I think it’s sweet. Plus, I think our girl Ashlee is looking great! Her hair is gorgeous and I love her tee. (Pete’s looking very cute, too.)

I wonder if Ashlee Simpson is enjoying the questions about her rumored pregnancy? She certainly has gotten better about answering them, saying that “We’ll see” and that she’d prefer not to answer them.

But I can’t help thinking that lately she’s also trying to hid her belly. She’s been seen wearing bigger shirts (remember the Kimmel performance?), and during a recent stint heading through Heathrow Airport in London even carried a pillow in front of her.

What do you think? Is this all a lot of hub-bub over nothing? Or do you think Ash really is pregnant and just wants to keep it to herself for a while?

Have you heard the latest?

Some reports are claiming that Papa Joe Simpson is “shopping” a Newlywed’s type of show featuring Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz.

Has that man learned nothing? Part of what broke up his other daughter’s marriage was that darn Newlywed’s show. And hey, it WAS a cute show. But as somsone that knows what it’s like to be a newlywed…. you don’t want cameras following you around when you’ve just gotten married!

There’s no doubt that reality TV can boost your career. I mean, really, look at how Ashlee got started. She had that reality show that followed Newlywed’s and we got to see her be herself and we fell in love with her. But, now that she’s engaged, I cringe at the thought of her doing a series like her sister Jessica. I’d like for both the Simpson girls to have their own lives and be happy and in love without the influence of their father.

Is it even possible?
