We seem to hear this rumor all the time about Tony and Jess. Recently it’s surfaced again because Tony has decided to play golf on his birthday rather than spent it with Jessica. In addition, she’s not at the tournament yet to watch him either.

But that’s not all. The real scathing piece of gossip is that Jessica parties too hard, and Tony refuses to deal with it. Jess keeps hounding him to get married, but Tony doesn’t want to because of her boozing. Since her career is in the klinker, she’s hitting the booze and partying.

Jessica Simpson was on Entertainment Tonight recently talking about her new fragrance Fancy and her relationship with Tony Romo. She confirmed once again that her and Tony are NOT (not, not, not) shopping for diamonds. If anything, she said, they are shopping for DVDs and eating pizza.

In other words: Stop asking her!

You know it’s a slow news day when people report about Jessica Simpson shopping for…. gasp….. a man! There’s so much speculation going on about her and Tony Romo right now that even when she shows up in a men’s department and buys a few items, it makes the papers.

Apparently Jess “she showed up to shop at LFT in Victory Park on Wednesday” (that’s LAST Wednesday, btw) and she “spent time in the men’s department picking out items from James Perse and RRL.”~source

Are you as thrilled as I am? Perhaps they were hoping Tony would jump out of a clothes rack and ask Jess to marry him right there in the department store! No?

Personally, I don’t believe this one. But a few sources are claiming that John Mayer and Jennifer Aniston are all set to march down the aisle. If that’s the case, I hope Jessica Simpson is able to ignore it all so she can concentrate on her career.

One source says, “I would not be at all surprised to see Jen and John make it legal sooner rather than later. In fact, I would be shocked if they didn’t tie the knot before her 40th birthday in February.”

Ooooh… the dreaded 40s. Well, I could believe that Jennifer might want to speed things up, especially since her ex, Brad Pitt, is happy as a dad and quasi hubby to Angelina Jolie. But I can’t quite believe that John Mayer is going along with it. I think he’s a serial dater.

All in all, I hope Jessica is looking back at this situation and glad for the things she’s learned, and even more glad to be out of it.

With Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz supposedly getting married today, speculation on wedding costs has begun. The Daily News Gossip page is saying the wedding is being “covered” in exchange for “exclusive coverage of this Saturday’s hush-hush nuptials.”

If this is so, it’s pretty tacky. I know we all want the behind the scenes details, but if Papa Joe couldn’t open his wallet for his youngest daughter (like he did for his oldest) that’s pretty bad. Still, Ashlee and Pete are probably okay with it. What do they care? They’re in love and if Papa Joe wants to be a cheapskate, whatever.

The source also says invites were sent electronically via Evite, and included sketchy information on the details, although it was clear that “cell phones and cameras are strictly forbidden.” Folks were just told to grab a hotel in LA and a car would come to pick them up.

They also said Jessica had a dinner for the couple at her place last night. Wonder if Tony was there?

Will Jessica Simpson actually try to push Tony Romo into marrying her to take some of the spotlight away from her little sister?

MSN reports that “(Jessica would) love nothing more than to get married before Ashlee” and “It upsets her that her little sister will be married and she won’t. She gets jealous when Ash gets more attention.”

Ouch. Jessica has been the apple of her father’s eye and received the bulk of attention from the parents. But Ashlee has settled into her own, with a new record and engagement, not to mention a content and happy life with fiance Pete Wentz.

Jessica has recently declared her love for Tony in an interview, and I can’t help wondering if her sister’s engagement has got her feeling left out. I still think she needs to lay low and let things evolve naturally with Tony. Is she even capable of doing that?

Ashlee Simpson was on the Ellen Show earlier today. In case you didn’t catch it, I’ve got a clip below. Ellen asked Ash about THE PREGNANCY THANG which is the hot topic, and Ashlee answered her question with, “Do I look like I had ten cheeseburgers or something?”

Ashlee also talked about her “inseparable relationship” with Pete Wentz (and it certainly seems that way because they are all over each other) and about going on the road with him. Check it out:

Ashlee then performed “Little Miss Obsessive” which sounded great. But I still maintain that this wasn’t the correct song choice for the first single. Ashlee keeps telling people that Bittersweet World is dance music, but this song is very moody and not DANCE-Y. Ya know? Anyways, Ellen rubbed Ashlee’s belly at the end, which was very cute.

More good reviews for Ashlee Simpson’s Bittersweet World. Blogcritics says, “Bittersweet World won’t move mountains, but it is a fun album with some surprises. It often feels like the album Gwen Stefani keeps trying to make, but comes across as more compacted and likeable.”

I think Ashlee is much more likeable that Gwen Stefani, would do you think?

If you caught Ashlee Simpson on the Today show the other day you saw her expertly avoid THE PREGNANCY QUESTION.

I don’t know if she’s trying to be coy or just plain doesn’t want to talk about it, but her answer to Matt Lauer’s inquiry was, “Only time will tell with that.”

So true.

Well, Ashlee fans, we didn’t get a confirmation on the baby thang, but we did get a closer glimpse at her gorgeous ring. When Matt asked about it she said, “He out did himself - I’m like ‘wow!’”

We’re like WOW too, Ashlee! It’s gorgeous!
