Have you been watching FNMTV with Pete Wentz?

This week should be good. They’re having Solange Knowles perform, along with Gym Class Heroes, and We The Kings. Michelle Williams will also be doing “commentary.” Nice to see Michelle supporting Solange.

From what I’ve seen, I think Pete is a really good host. Plus I know Ashlee hangs out backstage and says “hi” to all the guests. Check out the photos from the show that will air tonight at 8:00 on MTV.

Pete Wentz and Miley Cyrus: 7 Things I Hate

August 4, 2008 by Cherie

Miley Cyrus was on FNMTV with host Pete Wentz, and they did a cute video about “7 Things I Hate.” You’ll be surprised at which one was Pete’s top thing. (Joker that he is.)

Check it out.

Then Miley announced MTV Hip-Hop Music Award Nominees with Pete (she also showed some major love for Ashlee Simpson):

Pete Wentz vs. Jonas Brothers: Who Has Better Taste in Videos?

Pete Wentz Celebrates His 29th Birthday At Angels & Kings Chicago

Entertainment Weekly asked the Jonas Brothers and Pete Wentz for their list of five favorite music videos. Both lists contained some very cool videos, of course. But I did take exception to the Jonas Brothers listing “Take On Me” as their top favorite. Especially because they covered that track and totally butchered it! Perhaps it’s just me, after all, I loved the A-ha version myself:

That video is STILL so unique that it totally holds up after all these years. I did happen to catch the Jonas Brothers on Dancing with The Stars and can’t say I loved their version of it too much:

Can you honestly compare the two? Anyways, they also said they liked Fall Out Boy’s “Dance Dance” - and I couldn’t agree more. I love that video - it’s great to see Pete Wentz play the nerd who becomes the popular dance guy. Here it is for those that haven’t seen it:

Pete Wentz said Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit” topped his list. Again, the video truly marked a change in music and began a new era of look and sound with videos:

Check out the list for yourself and see who YOU think has the better list. (My vote goes for Pete.)

Pete Wentz Chats With Newsweek

There’s a great interview with Pete Wentz over at Newsweek that you’ve got to check out. Pete is down to earth and very funny (as usual) and talks about his new summer gig hosting FNMTV, his wife, and what he’ll miss most about single life. He says he prefers to hang out at home these days (must be the whole “nesting” thing) and that, “A lot of times it feels like you’re the nocturnal animal in the zoo, and it’s 12 noon and there’s a group of schoolkids staring at you, asking why you aren’t dancing and eating bananas.”

That Pete! He cracks me up. When asked if he was more approachable than Ashlee, he said no, that he found himself “more misanthropic” than Ashlee.

For those that need a clarification on that word (like, say, your blogger here), “misanthropic” means, Characterized by a hatred or mistrustful scorn for humankind.

Which has got to be a bunch of bull, because he seems so darnright friendly.

When asked which video of Ashlee’s he would play, he said he’d probably choose “La La.” Can’t argue with that, I think that’s one of Ashlee’s best videos. And heck, why not play it here? Enjoy:
