Jessica Simpson is on another magazine cover, this time for the June 2009 issue of Vanity Fair. Both her and Tony Romo open up about their relationship (he says she’s a supportive girlfriend), about her faith, and about singing.

Jessica has said she is trying to actively ignore the critics, especially the people that say she shouldn’t sing at all.

I think it’s very interesting that Tony is involved in this interview, because until now he has been very close-mouthed about his relationship with Jessica. She’s been the vocal one, which gives you the impression that she loves him but he doesn’t quite feel the same way. This could be a turning point, where he is more comfortable talking about things. Maybe it even means the two will get more serious in the near future.

Here’s a superfun blast from the past. Jessica Simpson is giving an interview in 1999 to Access Hollywood. She talks about touring with Ricky Martin, getting famous, and posing for photo shoots.

When asked about how to “get in the right mood” for the photo shoot she says she thinks about her boyfriend and it puts a smile on her face. She also talks about doing a one-hour drama with the WB. (Which for the life of me I cannot remember being on. I’m assuming it didn’t make it to production.)

She also talks about what she would do professionally after she turns 25, and she laughs and says she’ll probably just be a housewife then. She continues talking about wanting kids, having a ranch, etc.

The interview also brings up being compared to Britney and Christina. Jessica answers this question very well.

Poor Pete Wentz! He is just such a good sport sometimes. Here he was during a morning show interview where they made him taste a candy bar that was mushed into a diaper (thereby resembling poop). Incredibly lame bit, something only a radio morning crew would do. But of course Pete does it without making himself look like an idiot. Check it out:

Yes, if you thought hearing about the taste of Ashlee’s breast milk was over the top, or the details about Pete and Ash’s sex life were a bit TMI, get a load of this new sound byte.

In the February issue of Blender, Pete says he would be “jerking off” to pictures of Ashlee is he hadn’t married her.

Hey - the boys in love! He’s bound to say stupid things! (Although I think he needs to SHUT IT now, don’t you?)

Ashlee Simpson was out and about on New Year’s Eve. She cohosted a party at PURE nightclub in Vegas (Cesar’s Palace) with her hubby Pete Wentz. The two looked very happy - parenthood must be agreeing with them!

I loved Ashlee’s red hair, but I have to say I really like her new cut and color as well. And to think - SHE doesn’t even have a BFF whose a hairdresser!

Ashlee talked a bit about being a mommy to little Bronx, and made it clear her focus was on him. (Even though she was out partying without the little lad. But parents deserve a night out once in a while!) She made it clear Bronx was on her mind, and said she was enjoying motherhood and trying to be the best mom she could.

Pete already spilled the beans that Ashlee was breast feeding, but honestly one look at these pictures and we could have figured that out ourselves. Va-va-voom!

Ashlee also said she wanted to get back to the studio again in the near future. Can’t wait for that!

Ashlee Simpson was in Europe last May (if you’ll remember) and I just caught an interview she gave other there in a cafe. She looks very cute (I’m already missing her red hair) and talks about her album Bittersweet World.

The reporter asks her about “Outta My Head” (my personal favorite off the album) and how the video came about. The guy also asks her about her “fiance” which is so funny to hear now since she’s an old married lady with a new baby! Makes you realize just how much has happened to Ashlee in a few short months.

Jessica Simpson was out promoting her new fragrance “Fancy” at Macy’s again over the weekend. This time she made an appearance at the Costa Mesa, California location.

Deidre Behar in Costa Mesa sat down with Jessica and asked her a few questions. Jess talks about setting up the Christmas tree for Tony, her involvement with the marketing of her products, and the difference between Fancy and the dessert line. Check out the interview:

One photog said they only got five minutes to shoot pictures of her. Looks like they had enough time - Jess is a pro at posing.

In case you haven’t seen the new issue of Marie Claire, there is a terrific piece about 31 Things You Don’t Know About Jessica Simpson.

The magazine asked her parents, friends, coworkers (people like Vivica A. Fox and Andy Dick), and sister Ashlee to tell them things about Jess that we haven’t heard before. There were a few things that surprised me about the things revealed on the list. One was that Jessica was shy. The president of Epic Records said, “Her public persona completely conflicts with who she really is as a person.”

Also interesting to me was the fact that Jessica and Ashlee slept in a trundle bed for the first 11 or 12 years of their life. I think you’ll enjoy reading the list. Things that, quite frankly, we have heard before are on it (like the story about Jessica going to Eva Longoria’s house by riding in the trunk). But I think the way the magazine put it all together. It makes for an interesting read.

Jessica Simpson was busy promoting her new perfume Fancy this weekend in Chicago.

She signed autographs and chatted with fans at Macy’s. She also gave a short interview, telling one source, “I can’t wait to be a part of their show and let everyone know that I do actually sing and I’m not just in tabloids.”

Jessica stressed that she spent most of her time in Texas, and said that: “I am a very shy person, but I do believe that God has blessed me with a gift that I need to share. I always wanted to be entertaining in some way. Whether it’s cooking dinner for a best friend or [onstage], I try to do it up right.”

She also got a surprise that made her giggle when a young kid in a Tony Romo jersey stepped up to get an autograph. Apparently he looked like a “mini Tony.”

What I want to know is: What’s a young boy doing at Macy’s buying perfume! But I suppose Jessica has fans of every age and from every walk of life. Here are some more great photos from her appearance:

This is an awesome video that our dedicated reader Georgia sent in. It’s a combo of clips that look like they came from the old Ashlee show. We get to see both Ashlee and Jess as little girls (so very cute), then Ashlee as she is about to shoot her first video, then the “buffalo wings” commercial Ash and Jess did, and even that crazy Christmas duet they did on Jessica & Nick’s Christmas special.
