No one knows about being scrutinized about her weight more than Jessica Simpson. And while there had been rumors that she was shopping a new reality TV idea around to the networks, word has come that she will indeed star in The Price of Beauty. The show will air on VH-1, and will have Jess going around the world “to meet women, study local fashions, dietary fads and beauty regimes.”

Jess will begin filming the series next month, and it will air on VH-1 sometime next year.

Remember that oh-so-lame show, I Get That A Lot, that Jessica Simpson guest starred on a while back? Well news is the show was so well received, they are doing another one.

Apparently they’ve order three more of these shows. Entertainment Weekly says, “[CBS] might air the… specials quarterly and stunt cast with talent from other high-profile specials airing around the same time (for instance, casting all music artists for a Get That a Lot to air near the Grammys).”

Jessica Simpson put her vocal talents to good use Sunday afternoon when she sang for “about 2,000 pediatric cancer survivors for the 18th annual Celebrate Life with Hope event.”

Jess said, “To be able to give back is my sole purpose in life.” She worked with event planner Mindy Weiss, “who planned both Simpson’s wedding to Nick Lachey and Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz’s wedding.”

Nice to see Jess working for charity! What a big heart!

Jessica Simpson was spotting out in New York today leaving her hotel in New York. Apparently she was heading to an office building in Midtown. Check out the gold jacket! Not sure I love that, but as usual the shoes and bag are awesome.

Caught this old clip with Jessica Simpson after a performance. This seems to be done during the time Nick Lachey and Jessica were married and doing Newlyweds. She talks about a lot of things, and even doles out a few hugs! She interacts with the crowd very well, and the fans clearly love her. A couple people tell her she’s beautiful (naturally!), and they ask her things like how she felt about her first record deal, how to live with a guy, and what inspired her when she was young. They also ask about Ashlee, and Jessica tells them she was on 7th Heaven.

They also ask her about kids! Enjoy this video.

Jessica Simpson and her mom Tina were leaving Nobu the other night, and the paps asked her if she was staying with country or going back to pop music. Tina said, “We’re going to do it all!” Jessica didn’t say anything. The paps are truly hilarious when they try and get something out of the stars. A couple of them told Jess how beautiful she is and one even asked if she was drunk. (Like Jess is going to say, “Yes I am! Please photograph me being drunk!”

This is a short clip, which ends with one of the photographers telling Jess she looks like she’s lost a lot of weight and looks good.

Jessica Simpson gave Tony Romo a very expensive birthday present last month: a $100,000 speedboat!

She apparently gave it to him at their home last month for his 28th birthday party. Tony loved it (natch) but you know… the rumor that perhaps Jessica is trying too hard to buy Tony’s love was definitely brought up.

One source says, “(She’s) hoping that her birthday gift will lead to marriage, and by this time next year she’ll be walking down the aisle with him.”

I’m very surprised they aren’t married yet, or at least engaged. However, I don’t think buying Tony an expensive gift to try and get him to marry her is going to work, either. Do you?

Jessica Simpson is working on a new reality series! This one is especially close to her heart, and is called The Price of Beauty. It will center around women’s bodies and what people think is really beautiful. I’m sure she will also share her recent issues with being called fat because of one pair of jeans that didn’t look the best. So now, the networks have not picked up the show yet, but I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before they do.

I always say it, it’s fun to look back at old pictures. And these gems from 2001 of Jessica Simpson are really a hoot. Check out the long hair extensions on here. These were test shots, so the makeup wasn’t quite as “done” as it normally would have been for a real photo shoot. (Not that Jess needs it - she’s gorgeous on these pictures.) The only ones I really don’t like are the shots where she is obviously forcing a smile - it’s too much. What do you think?
