Jessica Simpson on The Ellen DeGeneres Show
November 20, 2008 by Cherie
Well we just had the flashback
with Nick and Jess on Ellen. Now here’s her appearance on the show yesterday.
Here’s the very cute promo with Ellen talking about the upcoming show:
Chace Crawford was also on the show, and talked about parking Jessica’s car before he was famous:
Here’s Jess’ interview.
I think she did a great job, don’t you?
Jessica sang “Remember That” live:
Did you notice how she had the same outfit on here as she did the other day when she was leaving Katsuya the other night?
Flashback: Jessica Simpson Sings Irresistible Live in Cancun
Here’s a flashback from an old MTV Spring Break special. Jessica Simpson is live in Cancun, Mexico singing “Irresistible.” This is back in her pop dancing days, when she was competing with Christina and Britney and Mandy. It was definitely not her niche, but it is interesting (as least to me!) to look back at these clips since she’s doing country now.
Which do you prefer? Jessica as a country artist or pop?
Video: Jessica Simpson at Snoqualmie Casino
November 11, 2008 by Cherie
Jessica Simpson played at the Snoqualmie Casino over the weekend, and one of the best things from the show is this article which stated that Jessica switched over to country three years ago and “has enjoyed several hit albums and singles.”
In country? Not yet, pal. That’s someone who obviously didn’t do their homework.
Here’s a snippet from the concert. Looks like Jess is doing her microphone snogging routine again and also a lot of chatting. I wonder if she knows she’s supposed to just SING?
Video Flashback: Jessica Simpson Singing “With You” on Oprah
October 26, 2008 by Cherie
Jessica Simpson has been singing “With You” in her country performances recently, but when the song first came out she was actually married to Nick Lachey and they were promoting their reality show Newlywed’s.
Here’s Jess on Oprah singing “With You,” live. But perhaps my favorite part of this video is that the teaser at the bottom flashes “silicon breast implants coming back?” along the bottom at the beginning of her number. Immediately following THAT is “a one-on-one with President Bush.”
An unfortunate combination of words, I’d say.
Be sure to watch through to the end, where we see Jessica sitting on Nick’s lap talking about watching football with a tee shirt on. It’s an interesting foreshadow to today, because she does mention wearing his (Nick’s) jersey.

We’ve got more about Jessica Simpson’s performance at the Texas State Fair over the weekend.
Video quality is not the best for these, but if you’re interested in seeing some of Jessica’s performance, here are three parts of her concert.

Flashback: Ashlee Simpson Sings “Boyfriend” Live on Tops of the Pops
October 16, 2008 by Cherie
Ah… memories. I don’t know about you but I love digging through old clips as much as I enjoy writing about the newsworthy stuff. I like to see how artists have changed, and Ashlee Simpson is always a treat because she changes her look, and she’s really grown up before our very eyes.
When I see this clip, it makes me think of the cute and girly Ashlee who was dating and dealing with Hollywood drama queens. Fast forward to today when she’s married, happy, and about to become a mom. But it’s fun to look back! Here she was at a “Tops of the Pops” performance singing “Boyfriend.” (I love her super blonde hair here.)
Ashlee Simpson at Zellers: Video and Pictures
August 26, 2008 by Cherie
Ashlee Simpson made an in-store appearance at Zellers over the weekend, and apparently she was as cute and charming as ever. Her best friend Lauren came along for the trip, and Ashlee revealed that the two of them will be working on a line a clothing in the near future. (Following in big sis’s footsteps.)
Ashlee also took questions from the crowd. She was asked which song was her favorite to perform (”Pieces of Me“), what she’s been up to these days (writing and getting ready to be a mom), and which video game she likes best (Super Mario Brothers).
She also talked about doing theater and movies sometime in the future. At the end, someone asked if Ashlee could sing a few lines from “Pieces of Me,” which she did (and sounded great.)
I think you’ll enjoy this video:

Flashback: Ashlee Simpson Sings “Catch Me When I Fall” on Saturday Night Live
If it’s one thing I like about Ashlee Simpson, it’s that she has the ability to bounce back from disappointment. Both the Simpson sisters really have the ability to move on from things, which is probably due to the strong influence of their parents.
After the disasterous Saturday Night Live appearance in which Ashlee lip synched, then danced a jig nervously, she was invited back. She chose to sing “Catch Me When I Fall,” from the I Am Me CD. She wrote this song after her first SNL appearance and the lyrics really reflect the hurt she felt at the time:
“Who will be the one to save me from myself
Who will be the one who´s there
And not ashamed to see me crawl
Who´s gonna catch me when I fall.”
She must have felt very unprotected and silly for having listened to her dad. I know her dad just wanted the best for her, but in retrospect it would have been better to either cancel the appearance or sing away (acid reflux or no.)
However, life isn’t perfect. And what happens… happens. We can only learn from our mistakes and move on. Ashlee did that with this appearance:
Flashback: Jessica Simpson Performs Irresistible Live
August 1, 2008 by Cherie
Caught this video clip of Jessica Simpson performing live in the UK and had to share it with you guys. This is from 2001 and she sang her hit, “Irresistible.” I must say, it’s very weird to see Jessica in this phase of her career. Looking at it now, she definitely was out of her element in this pop/dance phase. It’s not that she doesn’t sound good (or look great), it’s just that she seems ackward and uncomfortable dancing around. When they first showed her, in fact, I didn’t even recognize her. She’s grown up and looks very different now.
I think the speaking thing she does in the beginning of the clip is silly, but the singing is done well.
