Ashlee Simpson was in Europe last May (if you’ll remember) and I just caught an interview she gave other there in a cafe. She looks very cute (I’m already missing her red hair) and talks about her album Bittersweet World.

The reporter asks her about “Outta My Head” (my personal favorite off the album) and how the video came about. The guy also asks her about her “fiance” which is so funny to hear now since she’s an old married lady with a new baby! Makes you realize just how much has happened to Ashlee in a few short months.

Personally, I don’t believe this one. But a few sources are claiming that John Mayer and Jennifer Aniston are all set to march down the aisle. If that’s the case, I hope Jessica Simpson is able to ignore it all so she can concentrate on her career.

One source says, “I would not be at all surprised to see Jen and John make it legal sooner rather than later. In fact, I would be shocked if they didn’t tie the knot before her 40th birthday in February.”

Ooooh… the dreaded 40s. Well, I could believe that Jennifer might want to speed things up, especially since her ex, Brad Pitt, is happy as a dad and quasi hubby to Angelina Jolie. But I can’t quite believe that John Mayer is going along with it. I think he’s a serial dater.

All in all, I hope Jessica is looking back at this situation and glad for the things she’s learned, and even more glad to be out of it.

So, we kinda figured this was coming, right? Ashlee Simpson-Wentz canceling her planned tour for Bittersweet World.

I mean, the girl can’t be jumping all over the place while on tour!

Wait… J-Lo did it. And she was pregnant with twins. Hmmm.

Still, I don’t blame Ashlee for wanting to focus on her family life right now.

And by the way, did you see the new name? Yep, Ashlee is taking Pete’s last name. One source quotes Ash as saying, “I think that’s something that a woman should do when they’re marrying a man.”

It doesn’t surprise me that Ashlee is taking Pete’s name. When all is said and done, I think both her and Jess are traditional gals and they want a traditional (and somewhat old-fashioned) life.

Ashlee Simpson gave an interview to the Metro UK recently, and they asked numerous questions about her wedding, on whether she’s pregnant (which she refused to answer), on her tatoos, and even if Jessica’s divorce from Nick has turned her off marriage (it hasn’t).

They also asked about that disasterous SNL gig. Here’s what she said:

“What’s the worst gig you’ve ever done?”

My appearance on Saturday Night Live. I’d lost my voice and I mimed to a backing track. Unfortunately, the vocals to the wrong song started – it was so bad. That was so long ago I’m over it. I’d never do it again. A lot of people in the US mime – they’re just a lot better at it than I was!

I love Ashlee’s answer on this. I think she’s really shown that she’s moved on. It was a mistake, it’s no big deal, and she’s over it. She was young and has already adjusted.

They also asked if she believed in life after death:

“Yes. I don’t know if it’s life but I do believe in some form of existence after death. No one’s come back from the other side to tell me about it but I like to believe there’s something there.”

Ashlee Simpson’s wedding photo was released from People today. She looks beautiful (of course) and is wearing “an ivory lace Monique Lhuillier gown and a cathedral-length veil.”

People also indicated the ceremony had “10,000 black magic roses, red-and-black décor and chandeliers dripping with crystals” but “felt more like a sweet fairy tale.”

The issue of People complete with pictures will be out on Friday.

First off: Congratulations to Ashlee and Pete on their wedding! We wish you many years of happiness!

Now: on to the details.

As we suspected, Ashlee and Pete got hitched at Joe and Tina Simpson’s house on Saturday night. Ashlee’s bachelorette party began there on Thursday, and apparently they kept adding tents and equipment on Friday and Saturday.

Guests were told via evite to book a hotel in LA, and that they’d be picked up. Many were spotted waiting for the shuttle to come and take them to the party:

Jessica and Tony Romo were there together, although reports say it was clear they weren’t lovey dovey. Yahoo reports that “Jessica and Tony Romo sat at the wedding party table, but Jessica did not look happy the entire night. She just wasn’t her bubbly self. She was very subdued and she and Tony barely interacted the entire night, except for some dancing at the end.”

It was clear on Friday when Jessica and Tony met for lunch that they were just playing nice for the sake of the cameras. Look how happy Tony was with Jess in the car:

I wondered if Jessica could put aside her current troubles and focus (for once) on her sister? I soon found out the answer: of course not. It’s Jessica first. Take her speech to her sister where she toasted Pete and Ashlee by saying they have “inspired” her to “love again.”

Amazing. Her sister gets married and she manages to bring it right back to her. At the end of her speech Jessica apologized “for not writing anything more formal.”

Yeah… why actually be prepared for your sister’s wedding? Just get up and blabber something about yourself. Way to go, Jess.

As with his older daughter’s wedding, Joe Simpson did the marrying of the two. Apparently all the Simpson’s were very choked up and emotional. Joe even joked that the Simpson clan is a hard one to marry into it.

That’s the understatement of the year.

Yahoo also says “The reception did experience some drama. At one point later in the night, Ashlee lost one of her diamond earrings. “Pete got on the mic and told everyone to look for the earrings,” the guest says. “He said they cost more than the entire wedding!” Within a few minutes, a guest found the missing baubles.”

The wedding was decorated in a “Alice in Wonderland theme” with a cake that had a “top hat, tea pot, stop watch and a pot of flowers on top” according to People.

Guests included Nicole Richie and Joel Madden, Scrubs cutie Donald Faison and his girlfriend CaCee Cobb, and Pete Wentz’s English bulldog, Hemingway, who also served as the ringbearer.

Ashlee Simpson celebrated her final days as a singleton with a “mellow” bachelorette party Thursday night. EOnline reports that big sis Jessica and Simpson mom Tina were hosts of the party for Ashlee. Apparently the party was at the Simpson house, because tents were spotted going up earlier on Thursday.

Or could that be the secret location of the wedding?

Anywho, apparently the gals “made stops at a swanky West Hollywood lingerie shop and an A-list watering hole before winding down around midnight.” In typical Ashlee form, she had her closest friends near her and even invited Pete’s mom. Aw…..

After Pete’s party (which I’ll tell you about a bit later) both groups met up together and Pete and Ashlee spent the night together. Very sweet.

Is the marriage of Joe and Tina Simpson in trouble?

Rumors have been abuzz for weeks about it, saying Tina is upset at Joe for spending so much time away from home. He not only manages his daughters, but Ryan Cabrera’s career as well. He’s also a producer for TV shows like Women’s Murder Club. Busy, doesn’t begin to cover it.

One source says “Joe appeared at the South by South West festival in Austin, Texas earlier this month with a group of women and no wedding band.”

He and Tina have been married for 29 years. But rumors suggest he hasn’t been home in quite awhile and he hasn’t been spotted with his wife in a very long time.

Is This Happening.com reports that Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz are engaged. Apparently the two flew to Colorado to visit Pete’s mom and that’s where the blessed event occurred.
