We haven’t seen much of Ashlee Simpson lately, what with her expecting a new baby in a week (or month, depending on which report you believe.) But I couldn’t help posting a few tribute videos of her and Pete Wentz today. They really do inspire us when it comes to love, don’t they?

We get a fair amount of Pete Wentz fans that visit this blog. Some congratulate Ashlee and Pete, and some leave messages that Ashlee shouldn’t be with Pete. I see the attraction, Pete is a really handsome guy. Here’s a tribute with music by Fall Out Boy:

Jessica and Ashlee Simpson have a lot going on lately. And since they’re both singers, one can’t help but to compare the two. Their lives are insanely interesting because through it all, they remain in the news. One news story recently compared the two and I found this so interesting, I thought: why not find out what Jess and Ashlee.com readers think.

So that’s what I’m doing. But of course, I’ll reward you all for your opinions, being the good little blogger I am. I have a hardcover version of Sister Salty, Sister Sweet to give away.

But, of course, before you can have it, I want some information. The truth is, I love the comments you guys leave on this blog on various subjects. For this contest, I want to know which Simpson sister is your favorite! I mean, after all, this blog is about both of them, but if you had to choose…..? Who’s your fave?

With Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz supposedly getting married today, speculation on wedding costs has begun. The Daily News Gossip page is saying the wedding is being “covered” in exchange for “exclusive coverage of this Saturday’s hush-hush nuptials.”

If this is so, it’s pretty tacky. I know we all want the behind the scenes details, but if Papa Joe couldn’t open his wallet for his youngest daughter (like he did for his oldest) that’s pretty bad. Still, Ashlee and Pete are probably okay with it. What do they care? They’re in love and if Papa Joe wants to be a cheapskate, whatever.

The source also says invites were sent electronically via Evite, and included sketchy information on the details, although it was clear that “cell phones and cameras are strictly forbidden.” Folks were just told to grab a hotel in LA and a car would come to pick them up.

They also said Jessica had a dinner for the couple at her place last night. Wonder if Tony was there?

Is Jessica Simpson’s ex, John Mayer, dating Jennifer Aniston?

If it’s true, I’ve gotta say John must not have a “type.” This guy has dated Jennifer Love Hewitt, Cameron Diaz, our own Jessica Simpson, and now Jen Aniston? These girls are all different in look and personality. You gotta hand it to a guy that wants to find true love and knows that doesn’t come in a specific package. He’s gonna find the right girl just for him.

Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz went out to dinner with Nicole Richie and Joel Madden the other night. Wouldn’t THAT have been a fun night!

Wonder what they talked about? Raising, kids, perhaps? After all, Nicole and Joel just had their baby and now Ash is rumored to be sporting a Fall Out Baby herself.

They were careful not to be photographed together (darn!) but we do have photos of Pete and Ashlee. Ashlee looks very rested and elegant in black while Pete has one of his famous hoodies on. It’s also nice to see Ashlee leading Pete this time! (Although we think it’s sweet when he’s out front as well.)

Is This Happening.com reports that Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz are engaged. Apparently the two flew to Colorado to visit Pete’s mom and that’s where the blessed event occurred.

Lucy Walsh tells the National Ledger that “she’s grateful for her time touring with friend Ashlee Simpson, despite any lip-synching scandals, because it has prepared her to take center stage for MTV’s newest reality competition, “Rock the Cradle.”

Lucy played keyboard and sang backup for Ashlee. She also credits Ash with giving her some time in front of a crowd as it’s helped her get practice performing in front of a group.
