Video: Jessica Simpson’s When I Loved You Like That

February 23, 2009 by Cherie

Now I’ll admit, I’m not digging Jess‘ country music as much as her pop stuff. But I DO love the song “When I Loved You Like That” a lot. It’s off of her Do You Know album, and she doesn’t seem to play up the “twang” as much on it. Her voice is very understated and sounds very lovely.

Enjoy this video clip. It has the song plus some great pictures of Jessica.

Video: Jessica Simpson’s Top Ten Songs

December 31, 2008 by Cherie

What are your favorite Jessica Simpson songs? One fan put together a video of their top ten favorite Jess tunes along with photos of our gal. I have to say, I couldn’t agree more with the order. Their number 1 is also my favorite. See if you agree:

Flashback Video: Jessica Simpson Records Take My Breath Away and Angels

2003 HoopLA To Benefit The Starlight Children's Foundation

I can’t imagine what it must be like for Jessica Simpson to see herself ramble on and on about Nick Lachey. Most of us break up with someone and then usually don’t have to see or hear from them again. But she has tons of video where she is gushing, and it’s gotta be awkward to see now.

But we still like seeing it, don’t we? In this clip, Jessica is at the recording studio singing “Take My Breath Away” and “Angels.” She talks about how Nick basically “took her breath away” (cheesy, I know) and then warbles the song. It’s not her best sound, although the final version does sound good in my opinion. All the more reason I don’t think she should do the videos that show her in the studio. She’s not always good live.

Jess talks more about the “different sides” of her, from the Newlywed’s side to the more serious side. Then she sings “Angels” in the studio. Again, she doesn’t sound good on this take, but it is interesting to hear her spective and why she’s recording the song.

Jessica Simpson Sings O Holy Night With Mariah and Celine

Here’s another mashup of “O Holy Night,” this time with Mariah Carey and Celine Dion. Interesting to see how these ladies approach the song. Jess holds her own, I think. Enjoy.

Jessica Simpson Sings What Child Is This

We’ve played a lot of Jessica Simpson Christmas music over the past few weeks, but here’s one more. This is her performance at Rockerfeller Center in 2004 singing “What Child Is This.”

Video: Jessica Simpson Sings “O Holy Night” (Over the Top, as Usual)

December 13, 2008 by Cherie

Here’s a completely over the top video of Jessica Simpson singing O Holy Night.” It’s the actual video they released for the song.

Now, you’ve heard me say it before, I really do like Jessica’s Christmas album. I think it’s fun and cute and most of the songs suit her voice very well. I like the way she sings this song, but the video is all kinds of dramatic. It starts off with a couple boob shots of Jessica (which for this song is completely not necessary) and then goes on to show only Jess as a close up. She’s purdy and all but it’s a little boring. More than that, her constant mugging at the camera is a bit much.

See if you agree.

Video: Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey Sing “Baby It’s Cold Outside”

December 5, 2008 by Cherie

“Baby It’s Cold Outside” is one of my all-time favorite Christmas songs ever. It first appeared in an Esther Williams movie (who I also love) and over the years there have been a couple great remakes of the song.

Jessica Simpson put the song on her Rejoice album, (which you can win here) and she sang it with her then hubby, Nick Lachey. I always liked Nick and Jess’ voices together. I think they compliment each other very well.

When Jessica and Nick did their Christmas special, naturally they sang the song. Now, it is one of the cheesiest pieces of singing you will ever see, but it always makes me smile. Enjoy.

Video: Jessica and Ashlee Simpson Sing Little Drummer Boy

December 4, 2008 by Cherie

I’ve mentioned many times before that I really like Jessica Simpson’s Christmas album (a copy of which I’ll be giving here in just about a minute - hint hint) and especially some of the videos she did for it.

However, the video with her and Ashlee is NOT one of my favorites. Don’t get me wrong, I really like the song and the fact that they did a duet. I’m just not wild about the video.

First of all, Ashlee looks somewhat scared and/or intimidated. Second, Jessica is going off into her singing dramatics. Third, the two of them look like they aren’t even singing this song together - it’s like each of them is in their own world. It honestly looks like one sister (Jess) is showing off for the other sister (Ashlee). Or, it looks like they had a fight right before the song where Jessica was mad at Ashlee and therefore not looking at her, whereby Ash is looking at her sister like, “Please forgive me.”

The whole thing is a bit weird. However, I love that they did a duet, and the photos that they show of the two of them as kids are adorable. This video was part of the Jessica and Nick Christmas Special a few years back, which Papa Joe actually did to help promote Jess’ Christmas album, Rejoice. It was a great idea, and now we’ve got some awesome videos to see as a result. Enjoy.

Video: Ashlee Simpson Clips

November 29, 2008 by Cherie

This is an awesome video that our dedicated reader Georgia sent in. It’s a combo of clips that look like they came from the old Ashlee show. We get to see both Ashlee and Jess as little girls (so very cute), then Ashlee as she is about to shoot her first video, then the “buffalo wings” commercial Ash and Jess did, and even that crazy Christmas duet they did on Jessica & Nick’s Christmas special.

It’s a great video featuring Ashlee. Enjoy! (And thanks again Georgia :)

Jessica Simpson’s Cell Phone Ring

October 27, 2008 by Cherie

Jessica Simpson Leaves the Beauty Salon

CMT says that Jessica Simpson has her cell phone ring programmed to “Hey Good Lookin’” by Hank Williams Jr.

What’s that you say? Never heard of it. Allow me:

Personally, I’m very surprised that Jessica has something so old-fashioned on her phone, don’t you? CMT says that perhaps it’s a “little musical self-affirmation.”
